hehe, we started off just after sun rise when its cold, dont put on any layers :o i wish someone had told me (we went in Aug) but it was cold in the morning, them donkeys were tempting on the way back up though. Great experience especially watching the sun rise/fall with your best song playing

it is legal in certain parts of Nevada but not in Clark County ( where Vegas is ) , the cards will all be for dancers/strippers etc and will never mention sex

The amount of these touts has reduced a lot over the last few years as the hotels have moved them away from their frontage

if you were 40 years old and a tadge on the larger side then you would be a big wuss too :p

Okay you can have that! ;)

Still it was "wuss" on a curve scale, people that look at it and decide on donkeys are bigger wusses and people that don't even try are huge wusses that have missed out.

To be fair it is not a long walk... it is the 2km descent and then ascent that gets you! ;)

flights through normal places , hotels usually cheapest booking direct , tour companies such as Virgin Holidays normally very bad deals

Prices vary hugely but if you are flexible on dates then a week in a niceish hotel ( 4* ) should cost around £600-700 each with flights , at the low end ( circus circus etc then around £450-500 and somwhere like the Bellagio £900

We got a superb deal this year , 10 nights in the Bellagio with Business/First class flights with American Airlines for £1470 each

if you were going for 7 days or so, how much would you need to take with you? I know this is a bit of an open ended question..

it certainly is :p , we ( as a couple ) take around £1500 but we probably spend more than most

thanks, just need to persuade the g/f now.As the original plan was to go to New York.

Take her to the New York New York casino while you are in Vegas then , as a local described it to me "it's just like the real New York only without the muggers" :p

what flight with papillion do i want then?

whats the best one?

flight to where ? if you mean the Grand Canyon then I don't think that Papillon ( or any other helicopter companies ) fly there from Vegas , you cab go to the West Canyon which is excellent ib itself but if you want the South Rim then I think you need to go by bus or light aircraft

Papillon also operate a fleet of turboprop aircraft - I think at one point they had a joint fly-by-plane-from-las-vegas-to-GC and helicopter flight once you get there.
