I know theres been a few posts on the subject before, but i've finally booked my trip!!

March 28th - 11th April

at Excalibur Hotel.

So people ill be 21 at that point, i wont be arriving till like 10pm (there time) but i plan on going out first night! hehe

What do you suggest i do?

i 100% wanna do a Grand Canyon trip and also see some shows

obviously - gambling a bit etc.. are gonna happen, but what else do you suggest?

I am planning on hoping to LA for 2 days during aswell :)

Ideas?

Hoover dam is a must, its only a 30 min drive away, I know you said you wont be driving but im sure there should be a tour bus in vegas that can take you. LA ofc you should visit Hollywood, take a tour bus for around 20 dollars and they will show you all the spots etc etc

Might be worth going to long beach, some good restaurants, queen mary is based there aswell. Universal Studios is also worth seeing, hungtington beach(surf city) is worth a look if your a surfer, its also a great night out, probably the best in LA county and Orange county.

If you want to do some shopping go to south coast plaza it has everything you can think of and at cheap cheap prices.

Back to Vegas.. Stratsphere(sp?) is a good place with some extreme rides on the top. If your going to a strip club get a taxi as they usually give you a free ride and also pay half the cost to get in (they get money from the strip clubs for bringing customers).

Not a great deal of things in old town vegas so stick with the main strip. Theres a good pirate show at the treasure island, which is out doors with a actually ship. Be prepared to get wet. Most of the casinos on the strip have a mono rail connecting them, so to save time walking from one to the other check to see whether that casino has one.

the main monorail only runs down the East side of the strip and is set behind the hotels so can be a 15min walk from the Strip , they are also in the process of putting the price up to $5 , TBH it is pretty useless in most circumstances

If you are referring to the small priveat monorails then yes some of these are useful

The one which went from Ballys to MGM has now closed
The one from Bellagio to Monte Carlo is closed at times due to construction work
The Mirage to TI one is quite handy
The Excalibur-Luxor-Mandalay one is very good as it serves the hotels at the extreme end of the strip

All these ones are free

Woot! Our invoice arrived yesterday, confirmation that TheHotel is booked :)

Roll on September.

I've heard great things about TheHotel , apparantly it is up there with Bellagio and Wynn , the location would put me off a bit though but the pool/beach complex looks fantastic

Looks like quite a few of us are ther in September , have fun :D

Yeah, when we were there in October, the airport bus driver said that TheHotel is rapidly being regarded as the top place to stay, partly because you don't get crowds of tourists walking through your hotel site-seeing!

Had a look at all the virtual tour type things...the suites look lovely, 42" plasma in the lounge, plasmas in the bedroom and bathrooms (yep, 2 bathrooms!)

The deal we got was only a hundred quid or so more than a "normal" hotel for 9 nights!

OCUK Las Vegas September meet anyone??!! :D How cool would that be!

Just got a call from Excalibur, because we are going with my friend Pete - his parents go out to the hotel there 1/2 times a year and have done for a while (quite loaded) so we've got Casino rates, they rung him and said for the 2 weeks the hotel will cost $1015 for the 3 of us, so $338~ dollars each :) (around £200, flights where £300!)

Allright!!!

29 Days!!!

Gonna be there for NYE yeah. Going because I turn 21 just before, my Mum and Dad are paying for my flights as a birthday present, and I've just gotta pay for the Hotel myself (they've already booked it, but you pay it on arrival). We're staying in the MGM Grand for 6 nights, although I've forgotten which dates.

I'm looking forward to my first legal US beer, that's when you know you've really become an adult :D

lucky ****, im lookin forward to goin back over there at some point, you'll be glad your 21 when your over there. You goin with some mates or the parents? its a pretty seedy place esp the off the strip hotel we stayed in :o
