Leaked 360 dash fall update

Its a nice list, but the way it's worded suggests its fake. 'Added Xvid support'? and no further details on that? It just sounds wrong.

I think having too many friends will possibly kill XBL. Think about it this way, if you have 10k active friends every time you log on, you will send out 10k notifications. and if you logged on first, and then your 10k friends logged on you would get 10k notifications.

I think 100 is enough tbh. I fill it up regularly, but when I look at the FL I realize there are people that I have never played with, people I have played with once or twice and people I do not even recognize their names.

I delete those people and I am down to 50-70 friends.

Yeah but not everyone spams people with invites to their game ;)

I'd be happy with 150 :)

Good point, you'd know when I came online (apart from the notification pop up)

XBL would grind to a halt as everyone on my friends list received 2 game invites

tell me about it, me and my sister are watching a dvd and:

'Kronologic has invited you to play halo 2'

Cue my sister asking me who kronologic is :p

Consider yourself lucky. I once crashed McDaniel's 360 with GoW invites (and I knew full well he does not play that game online) Although McD and I have a "Special Relationship"... Actually Miss K and McD also have a special relationship, come to think of it.

Generally invite storms only happen when a player is needed. Recently I have been very restrained. Halo2 allows me to invite all online friends at the hit of a single button, however I have only invited people I think, might be willing to play.

I see myself as performing an important service, I make you all feel wanted.

McD threw his toys out of the pram that night I recall :D

Something about "blocking communications with Krono" was heard...

I remember that I think I sent a invite, he was playing some other game next minute he went offline.

I want the X delete button, takes ages to delete demos etc. and the groups thing should just be like MSN Messenger.

I only have 12 friends and its slow as hell when I log on....

What I want to see is Internet explorer put on the dash...

* New Xbox Live Arcade blade - where you can download, play and learn about Xbox Live Arcade
* Brand new "web based adver-games" flash games which aren't downloaded, but are playable bite sized games, accessed via new Xbox Live Arcade Blade
* Xvid support
* IPTV Functionality - support for TiVo like PVR options. Will be able to record TV direct. Options include source by channel, director, actor and distributor
* New clan support - will be able to launch clan games direct from dashboard, can "fold" friends into new clan category in friends list
* New option in Games tab - beta and others, will be launcher for MMO and multiplayer betas
* Themes can now be animated
* Themes may now have sound effects
* Better slideshow capabilitiesm What? new options added. New sound effects and integration with Hard Drive/ PC music capable.

These are all the things I think are BS.

Clan option was kinda dismissed by Major Nelson though. They said they had no plans for it. Could happen. But cant see what it would bring. An extra friends list? That's all I can think of.

well it'd let you send out messages to you whole clan at once, maybe have some rudementary message board or something? and links to clan options within games (oh look halo 3's coming out)

Halo 3 is coming with no clan support. Already been said on the Bungie podcast.

Some sort of message board? Not a chance imo.

I can send messages to more than one person already so a button which allows me to send it to a group/clan is not really clan support.

thats what makes me think that MS are going for a more general solution that can be used for several games. The halo 2 solution wouldn't make sense with the 360 because it wouldn't be accessible from the dashboard.

Can't you only send messages to one person or everybody? or do you have to select them one by one? either way a 'send to clan' option would be incredibly useful for clan updates and game invites.
