Leaked 360 dash fall update

thats what makes me think that MS are going for a more general solution that can be used for several games. The halo 2 solution wouldn't make sense with the 360 because it wouldn't be accessible from the dashboard.

Still.. the game needs to be able to support the update. Halo 3 is pretty much finished and Bungie have said no support. So the dashboard and game wont really be able to "communicate" to each other should this be a feature. Of course it could happen in a update. But I really doubt it. Adding clan support into the dash makes things more complicated for n00b users. Not something MS want to do.

Can't you only send messages to one person or everybody? or do you have to select them one by one? either way a 'send to clan' option would be incredibly useful for clan updates and game invites.
One by one. Sure it would be useful but I wouldn't call that clan support. If I hear that I want to see tracking of stats. This means all games which can use it. I want to see ladders and tournaments and all the other piddle and crap.

Bungie have heavily hinted that MS are considering clan support. I think if Epic can convince MS to add an extra 256mb ram to the console, then Bungie can convince MS to add clan support to live.

Bungie have said Clan support will not be featured out of the box, because the friends lists are tied into the guide, but it might not be long until clan support is available. Which I take to mean, there are plans for clan support in the fall update.

That was my interpretation too.

TBH All I want is the ability to delete games off my gamer tag (demos, rental games etc).

Demo's?

They dont show up on mine anyway, unless you mean arcade demos?

With them just use an offline profile.

I seriously doubt xvid support, there is more chance of Divx first.
Divx is licensed whereas Xvid is open source and therefore costs nothing. If MS opened the 360 to Xvid and dare I say it Matroska then everybody with an HDTV would buy one.

Same here, unless you buy a XBLA game it shouldn't appear imho.

Makes you wonder why they haven't added the feature as its always being requested. Apart from Arcade demos it's also annoying to have a full game there with say a total of 10 points etc (say you then traded it in or whatever).

I have 1 gamerpoint from Football Manager 07 before I sold it because it was rubbish compared to playing on the PC.

That's all true, however Microsoft as always are only interested in pushing their own technology, i.e. WMV.

Why do people care? No one ever checkes anyone elses gamerscore and goes "fnaaaarrrrr they have teh only 10 pointz".

I wonder which way they'll go, keep pushing their own technology or relent and let Xvid lead the way, selling more 360's. Two different depys at Microsoft though and the guys that are on the case with WMV wouldn't be too happy one thinks. A decision only the top man can make, maybe.

The problem with clan support from the dash is that, people can be members of different clans for different games, how is that going to work?

They might have a clan for Halo 3, but another clan for RS:V and yet another for driving games......
