Lease. Too many options!

As much as I love the F10, I think I'd want to drive around in a higher specced F30 than a base spec F10 if the F30 provided sufficient space.

Can you option up the 520d SE a bit? Auto is still 18% BIK. 320d in auto in all trim levels apart from xDrive in auto is also 18% BIK.

The base spec F10 has leather, dual climate, navigation,.xenon lights etc. So this isn't really relevant. Pretty much everything you would be able to spec on an F30 in this scenario is standard fit on the F10 now.

Apart from the F10 in 518d spec being the most soul crushingly dull and slow combination imaginable.

It comes down to specification vs. engine. What do you value the most?

A very nice place to be with too many toys to play with, but a tediously slow vehicle (518d). Or a nice place to be with a far pokier vehicle (320d). Neither will disappoint with interiors, the 3-series will damage the bank balance a bit with spec, but should be a better package than the 518d will.

If you could get a 520d, then you'd be game with that.

Interestingly I've just been offered an A5 s line 177 brilliant black that is on the reallocation list (likely someone has left the company and handed the keys back).

I was teetering on the 520D having been and looked (not yet driven) at some cars last night. Mercs have improved a lot since I knocked them at every opportunity but the 'feel' of the car wasn't as nice as the BM IMO.

So it may come down to nearly new (<1000 miles) A5 or a brand new 520D.

A5s are quite deceptively small inside (I don't know how Audi waste the space). The other thing that strikes me (personally) is that the Audi engines are worse MPG and weaker BHP than BMW. Without wanting to instil any bias, Audi seem to have created a few good engines a few years ago, and not reinvested further. BMW are constantly improving their engines.

Unless the A5 is an exceptional deal the 5 is much better, the A5 has been out for over 6 years now. The 5 is more modern, as is the A6.

BRILLANT BLACK
19" 20 SPOKE ALLOYS ELEC. FLDING & AUTO DIMMING MIRRORS HILL HOLD FUNCTION

It'll cost me best part of £100 more a month, and I haven't checked the BIK yet.

That doesn't sound like a good deal to me...£100 a month more over the 520d?

Yeah. The lease cost for the A5 is huge in comparison. I would be saving money on the deal but losing money over the 520D.

You would be a craaaazy to get an A5 over a 520D.

A5 is just an A4 with a sloping roof, the boot is more usable but the rear cabin is claustrophobic. Front is the same as any other A4.

I dont get the old, comment, BMW are only just catching up with the F30 in terms of interior and infotainment, Audi ride is always going to be inferior, both 4 pot engines are on a par. Handling is much better on the BMW and will always will be.
