Most of my clocks are either battery operated radio controlled ones, Oven i dont care about and cheapo microwave havsnt got one!

Freeview doesnt reset itself luckily so doesnt rescan when it loses power.

The Big Switch in the Fuse Box is right next to the bedroom so its easy access!

i go down to the sub station and pull the fuses out to the whole street just to be safe.

then i go and wash my hands 72 times :D

it would be waaaay more fun to wash you hands first, then go stick your hand in the fusebox

;)

Hardly Ever have anything in the fridge! :p

The fridge stays on when i turn the big switch off in the Fuse box

I still don't understand why the fridge/freezer is turned off when you leave, that's really bizarre. They're meant to be left on.

never turn plugs off, my dad does it with everything in the kitchen apart from freezer & fridge. One thing i'd never leave on standby though is TV's or monitors just don't trust them for some reason

I worry about people who turn the ******* fridge off to save electricity :o

I mean I'm all for saving money and being tight but there are limits

problem is that if you turn a fridge/freezer off at the mains to save energy/money then the temp inside will start to rise, i would imagine it takes a lot more power to lower the fridge temp than keep it constantly cool.

Obviouslt this depends on the time limits involved.

Yep it's a false economy. I bet it only costs a penny or two to run a fridge overnight anyway.

I have two PCs, one which runs a radio station by itself and another is a gaming one.

Sometimes I leave the gaming one on overnight and sometimes the radio one can be on for days unattended. There are two circuit breakers at the wall socket for each PC and with the amount of fuses in plugs, adapters and failsafes in PSUs I would hope that would be enough. Doesn't safeguard against everything though.

I take the pc and router plugs out and change them to alarm and phone charger at night. I'm too lazy and poor to go buy a big plug thing :)

My Laptop is on 24/7 usually just turn the PC off at the blog though, dunno why :p

Laptops take a huge amount of power if they're charging the battery. If it's left on for large amounts of time, I'd reccommend you take the battery out.

Define huge? How many kilowatts do they use to charge up?
