Maybe console players have better taste? I never cared for the game personally (PC Version) :)

Halo 3 one of the top played games, so doubt that. ;)

It doesn't work well with a pad, that's about it. I hear it's quite buggy in comparison to the PC too.

Also PC is much more of an elitist platform overall, Gears of War did great on consoles, PC gamers however didn't rate it overall and I'm pretty sure it got poor sales. Unreal Tournament 3 also suffered from this despite the past success of the series, that's why Epic have thrown a boohoo.

The problem with pad controls and this game is the sensitivity. The slightest nudge of the right stick would make you just about turn around.

I was having a hell of a time at first and was also nearly put off by it, but then I dropped the horizontal sensitivity two steps down and it was fine.

I don't think Gears is a good example as it was a buggy mess when it was released on PC, the bad rep from that alone must have dented sales considerably.

I don't understand what happened with UT3 though, I found it pretty good on PC.

As far as I can tell (going from forums that is) there's still a descent TF2 community on 360 knocking about. That said I don't own the game to have a look for myself. I'd also make the assumption that there has to be an audience out there as Valve wouldn't bother releasing the new pack otherwise.

I know everyones experience will be different but like I say my best experience has been on 360 so far, so that's what I'm sticking with :)

I thought the controls were alright, but very odd compared to the scheme of CoD and Halo.

I found myself not using the quick turn button at all though, thought it was pretty useless...maybe if I was using a PS3 pad I'd make use of it. ;)

Yeah I didn't mind UT3, but it was totally dead even on the week of release which I was really surprised about.

As for Gears I didn't really encounter any bugs on the PC version, the stuttering was there but I think I fixed that following something someone posted on the Epic forums.

:(
Its also the sort of game I could get bored with very quickly, and if so, will be easier to trade in the 360 version. There really is very little variety in the gameplay, so this is a strong possibility.

Just reading what I typed here.... am suddenly not sure why I am getting this at all and not just getting WaW

Maybe will see how it goes for a couple weeks, then trade it in for WaW if finding it dull. Dunno now :(

You were in the minority then as the Epic forums were in a complete **** storm of users with various issues from the word go. A quick glance at the wiki shows the scale of the issues too. Also it seems that if your copy of the game came from outside of Europe or the US then you got no patch support whatsoever. Pretty shocking release all round tbh.

I'm just waiting for the phone call from my local shop & then it's L4D for me, Delivery usually comes in around 2pm'ish, Fingers crossed.
I've gone for PC as I can't play FPS games on my 360 as well as I can on my system, I was tempted to go 360 as a bunch of friends are getting it but the possibility of user based mods etc has kept me on PC.
I loved the demo to death & am more excited about this game than any other released since BF2.
Don't look like owt will stop me playing 64man IO BF2 servers but L4D will make a nice change, I Love the instant camaraderie you get from this game even with randoms.

Have you completed it already? How long is the single player campaign?

Yeah... It's four hours long :p But it's all about the replayability. You're not getting it for single player. Also, if you're worried about whether to get it for PC or 360, there's really very little difference. I've "completed" it on PC and played most of it on 360 and I'm impressed with both.

In fact, the 360 version will probably get the most of my attention in future.

360 version for me, I was totally expecting it to be better on PC, and it was in some respects; the graphics are a lot nicer, mouse + keyboard - but apart from that I haven't been able to play the demo through due to crashes and keeping on disconnecting. I know people say that this is usually the person's PC but mine is more than capable with latest drivers and still experienced these issues.

I played the 360 demo for the last week, voice chat was a load of fun, only had 1 game of about 25 where some guys started tking me (because i accidentally shot them :P). I have had a couple lock ups on the 360 version but these were during loading screens when going back to lobby, hopefully they will have sorted that.

Looking forward to tomorrow!

I'm getting both versions (already have PC copy) mostly because of different friends on both platforms. However the most fun I had with either demo was with the 360 version due to splitscreen play.

splitscreen was wierd in this game, being next to each other. So much nicer when the split is horizontal.

Anyway, my copy still not been posted. Hope it goes out soon, cause I want to play this tomorrow night.

Got my PC version around 1.40pm, Installed & plays perfectly, Online just as perfect, loving it so far.

I only ordered it today, I forgot all about it. Hopefully will be here on Saturday so I shall be up for some zombie crunching.
