Lenovo Legion Go

Yes I was wondering the same other day too, as they were £550 at EE store and now £569.99 at Argos. Are you seeing them any cheaper than that ?

No - was some £550 deals earlier yesterday but I'm guessing only limited stock as they soon went back to £599. Plus £569 at Argos.

Also the original Asus Ally is now £400 too, but I returned 2 Ally X's with faulty squeaky shoulder, triggers issue and one also had 2 issues loose buttons too on one with the shoulder button issue.. So gave up on that and was last two they had in store, so couldn't go threw more to find one without issues.. Asus zero QC strikes again even on their latest version..

Not sure if I should go try an Ally original at £400 and knowing the issues with that too and hoping for a good one and hopefully will be easy to return in-store too if issues.. As I would like a smaller device too but I keep telling myself to wait for the next gen, but they also are not showing huge improvements and silly prices.

Pretty much everyone I know who has bought an Ally has had issues - two of my colleagues have become converts to the Go in recent weeks after having issues with the Ally.

just wish it had more RAM is the only thing and 32GB would have been great on it from the start or an option with more RAM.

Yeah even 24GB would have been good, but once you've taken a chunk of the 16GB to use for VRAM it is playing with thin margins and some of the games which would work quite well on it like Hogwarts don't like less than 16GB of available system RAM at all.

Considering getting a handheld but I mostly play TFT (part of League). Is it possible to run TFT on these devices or does the Riot vanguard interfere?

I dunno much about League/TFT but the Legion Go has a full Windows 11 experience so anything which runs on a desktop PC should run on it.

EDIT: There are 1-2 people complaining Vanguard won't initialise on it but plenty of people saying it works with zero issues as well (Some people say you have to close the Legion Space app to make it work).

Thanks. Definitely tempted - the Mrs doesn't like it when I'm up in the office but with one of these I could game on the sofa and she might be a bit more happy with that :D Know someone selling one for £375 - hows that for a second hand price?

Not using my LeGO that often TBH. I've just bought Dead Cells, as it seems like it suits that type of game better. I do have Fusion 360 and Solidworks running on it though, and both work very well.

Mine only gets occasional use as a gaming handheld to be fair, but I find it brilliant for filling in for general mobile use with the controllers off and flip stand out either like a tablet or with a travel keyboard and mouse hooked up to game or do productivity stuff - the CPU performance is quite reasonable plugged in in full power mode and the screen is very usable for the size.

Fully agree. It's why I bought mine. I have forgotten Nd it has got me playing games more than before though. With the controllers, driving and flying Sims are pretty good.

Screen is lovely, just a shame about the noise and battery life of the thing.

Think the Rog X sets a new standard in windows handhelds for power along with battery life you don't need to baby all the time

Interesting. In low power mode the fan and battery life are pretty good in my opinion.

I find both OK but both could be better in low power mode, though I get a good 8+ hours of watching YouTube out of it with a few tweaks. The fan behaviour is a touch odd when it doesn't really need to be as active as it is - in theory at 5W it should barely be needed at all. Part of that is Windows 11 though, it often gets far more active in the background than it needs to be even in battery saver mode (developers need a good slap around the head) and Legion Space is also not the best for having running when you want low power consumption.
