Yeah, you can get it this friday, with the older "proved" version (nothing wrong with it, bugs ironed out) or wait for the new version which may have bugs/problems.

I got a Mac mini the other day, I'm going to order the discs for £6 or so but not install it until I know it's ok.

I have been out of uni for 2 years ;)

Just ring up and pretend tbh.

..I've done it so many times they don't question me anymore; I just say "I ordered xxx recently, you probably have my details from before" and they take it as proof now.

My secret then is if I want to order a second laptop/computer/software I just give my .mac address (different order history from my regular Apple ID) with the same excuse.. they can't cross trace my orders so I end up beating the system by default (system takes them as 2 separate customers)

You must have bought something using HE discount in the past? That's all you need.

If you haven't, don't worry.. they hardly ask for proof, and once you've snuck 1 order in then you're scott free.

The beaut for me is my MacBook Pro was expensive, so they've stopped questioning the lesser purchases, and take it on face value that I'm a student now :D
 
Well, I am a student and my college offers HND courses for 2 years then they ship you off to Uni for the final year. :p

Can't order until I get paid anyway ¬.¬
 
Just oredered mine too, bought my mac mini in Las Vegas on the 2nd October so i qualify and i'm surprised cos i bought it in the usa. :p Excellent thought i'd have to pay the full whack, or go back to the usa with work and save £15.
 
I may consider selling my MacBook Pro with "Leopard Preinstalled" when the time comes ;)

I imagine the want for a MBP bundled with Tiger will drop dramatically come post October.

I haven't ordered anything through HE discount, haven't been in Uni for 8 years and didn't order my MBP direct through Apple (went through a company reseller) so I think I would be out of luck if I tried to blag it on the phone. :(
