I meant insult in a racial way, i.e calling someone names or what not on the basis of race...Are you saying using the word ****** against a black man is not insultive rather descriptive?

No, I didn't imply that anywhere. But "******" is a completely different area, as might now be "****", and you know that.
Is calling a black person "black", not the same as calling a white person "white", a fat person "fat" or a smelly person "smelly"? As Mat said, it depends entirely on the contect in which it is used, which your post illustrates.

I would say that is insultive..

If one was to say "black b" then imo that would be descriptive//

"****" I would think would be descriptive. Due to the fact it is short for Pakistani.

Yes, **** and ****** are insulting, which is what I'm saying. And no, **** is now gaining the same reputation as our beloved n-word because of ill use in racist context. It shouldn't be an insult, as, yes, it is short for Pakistani, but that's not the way things go anymore.

This is what i was trying to say all along....I guess we was coming from different sides. Again depending on how disguised this "descriptive insults" are the recepient might take it as been racial insult. I guess this is moving off thread topic now.

I would still like to hear people's view on what i said as per "we are all potential racist" .

To me and probably my girlfriend that is insulting. Im not fat but my missus is larger than most.

As for the rest of them,

The chinese guy, yes that is ok imo. All because you know of him as being chinese.

The white guy. To me (being white) I would say "That bloke". I wouldnt say its insulting though calling him white. That could be because I am white. If he was black. Then I am afriad you will find that a lot of people would say that is insulting and in a way racist.

Like what has been said previously. Its all down to what race/colour you are and how you see other people.

Im not saying you want the new thread but It would be nice to have some sort of input on the contents we are going to hopefuly achieve.
