well guys im back and this time my i3 prebuilt computer was faulty, yes prebuilt (dont ask ) i now want and need to build i got scared and got it it built for me but now i want to build ok.

here is what i came up with (oh my budget has slightly raised:)

I would advise you to have a look at the Samsung SpinPoints instead of your WD Blue.

The GPU is almost just a matter of taste. If you need one right now, the 5850 is not a bad bet. If you have been at least somewhat diligent in looking up what you want I am sure you have come across countless threads debating the virtues of the 460 or 470s of the world in comparison. The 5850 is a smashing card and will serve you well.

With the PSU you should also look into the XFX and the Sapphire models that currently are selling at a really low price in comparison to the product you get. The Sapphire is 625W and will power your system nicely even if you settle for a more power hungry GPU option.

Have fun with it. Unless I am being blind there are no actual problems with your build. There are tweaks you could make, but if you read some other threads around the site there is a lot of information to be had.
 
Couple of items I would change are the hard drive to the Samsung F3 500GB or even the 1tb version.

The PSU can be dropped to 600w ~

i want extra power and its only like 5£ more as for the samsung done and added extra psu cable extenders cos i was hearing you need them for it reccomend any other modular psu s without this problem thanks

Why do you want extra power? If it's for future upgrades eg 2nd gfx card then change mobo to a 890 chipset for better x firing, I may be barking up wrong tree here but can't see any other reason why you'd want "more power"

Hello again. Go on - what happened with the i3 system ???

New build looks good. I've just bought the saphire pure 625W modular. Looks like a bargain for £50. Arrived today so will let you know how it is (by about page 7 of this thread :) :p)
 
I have already installed my Sapphire Pure 625W into my Cooler Master 690II Advanced case yesterday (still dancing over getting the case for just £65...the etailer I bought from put the price back up to £78 right after :p). The 12v 4pin/8pin cable is long enough along the back of the tray and out the top near where the 4pin/8pin is with fair bit of margin left, if the the PSU is installed with the fan facing down and the cables close to the tray side; however if the PSU was installed with the fan facing up and the cable further away from the tray, it will struggle (not saying 100% it won't) to reach and plug into the 4pin/8pin (which you might need to get extension cable for £2-£4).

You should be able install the Sapphire PSU with the fan facing down since the Scout case does have the design for air-intake slots for installing the PSU that way (but you should check if the cases comes with a dust filter for PSU air-intake slot). But one thing to bare in mind is I found the Sapphire 625W to be "shorter" than other PSU such as Corsair, XFX, so the PSU fan is not perfectly align with the fan intake spot at the bottom of the case. With that said, the intake slot of the case is only blocking 10-15% of the fan (the outter edge), plus with the screws tighten there's still a bit clearance between the PSU and bottom of the case, so I'm not worried too much about it. <£50 for a branded 80+ Efficiency Modular PSU (well, Sapphire Pure 625W is actually rebranded Enermax MODU82+ 625W according to OcUK staff, and I've compared the specs of the two PSUs they are indeed identical) with 2x6pin PCI-E and 2x6+2pin PCI-E connector is a very good price, but if you still want better quality and warranty, you could still stick with the XFX, or if you don't need Modular, the Corsair TX 650W on this weeks offer for <£62 is also a good consideration:

The rest of your build look solid, but I don't think it is a good idea to get a 5850 now...with 6000 series just around the corner. Think you can use the onboard graphic on the 880G until then?

Another thing to note is the Akasa venom doesn't cool as good as even the previous version of Titan Fenrir, more so on the AM platform:

With the Titan Fenrir Evo even better cooling and quieter than the previous version (fan updated), I think you should consider getting that instead when it is back in stock.

Thanks for the update on the saphire PSU, but as you can see I bought one anyway :). Will hopefully install it tonight. As I have one of those awful 'according-to-big-wayne-non-thermally-advantaged-yet-it-runs-perfectly-cool-anyway' PSU-top cases, I'm less worried about cable length :)
 
Xigmatec Asgard. Although there are PSU-bottom cases available for very little more (well there are now - not so many when I bought mine) I preferred the look of the Asgard so I went with that knowing the PSU position makes naff-all difference to cooling anyway. I'd probably spec a PSU-bottom case in any spec-me thread now, just to avoid big.wayne's annoying 'thermally advantaged' nonsense preaching :) :)
