It's actually a fairly significant amount, relative to the overall mental health budget. The trouble is that the overall mental health budget is woefully low in the first place. (plus the above point about it just replacing what was previously taken away)£600m is pittance for the scale of the problem. It's nothing but a token gesture.

Article here says that budgets for mental health provision from 2010/11 to 2014/15 dropped by..... £600m.
