LFD2 banned in Australia

It's all just a grand plan from the Aussie government, they're stealth banning all good adictive games in an attempt to get their youth back out on sports fields so thay can start beating us Poms in important sporting events again, just like the old days :p

I think it is. I wouldn't have said it otherwise. Being anti gaming is as ludicrous a position as being anti pickles. Sure, some games are nastier than others. By the same token, some pickles are nastier than others. But you don't go around banning nasty pickles do you?

I think I've stretched this analogy far enough though... :p
 
No worries, they can always replace zombies with plastic chickens for Australian market, with blue glue instead of red blood . Left for Chicken 2 :D

None of the CODs including 5 (which is the most violent) are as violent as L4D and my main point was that not many games get away with the violence as in L4D. If you actually take in whats happening on your screen you will realise. Its pretty sick. Ace though!!! :D:D:D

what?

In what way is butchering hundreds of "living" men and burning them alive with a flame thrower, less violent than butchering hundreds of "undead" zombies and burning them"dead(?)" with molos?
 
Of course we can just import the game (most savvy people do import all games as its cheaper) however there would be a severe lack of Aussie servers so very high pings going internationally.

This is more for the GD talk but as I mentioned its one of many things that make this county suck balls, they have stupidly strict laws & its so damn expensive. I look forward to the day I move back to London more & more.

Seriously?

My sons just turned 15 and I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt that he can tell the difference between real life and zombie computer games. Were nowhere near close enough with regards to gfx realism for the lines to be even slightly blurred! I dont know anyone who actually waited until their 18th birthday to watch 18 rated films. The whole rating system is just a guide line, I can't think of what use it actually is, except for uneducated parents who dont take an interest in what their younger children are doing.

Banning a video game due to violence? Thats just madness, utter madness.

Yes, maybe your son can and it's up to you as his parent really. But with games as graphic as L4D2 is looking I don't think someone who is under 18 should just be able to walk into a shop and buy the game without their parent being there to stop them. If a parent decides to buy it for their son/daughter/other then that's fine... :D

And in my post I never said I agree with the banning...
