LG 34GK950G, 3440x1440, G-Sync, 120Hz

I assume you guys are talking about playing with quality settings maxed? Because I thought a 2080ti could push 4K with lowered quality settings.

But the question was more directed at would you sacrifice image quality/hdr to get an ultrawide ? Would you commit to a monitor fan and 1st gen technology in order to get higher quality image settings at a lower res but on a wider display?

Basically it’s more about the ultrawide vs image quality trade off..

I'm saying to maintain 144hz in AAA games. You'd probably get around 100 or so but i doubt it'd be maxed.

Yeah that's why I commented earlier about needing two nvlink 208ti's for 4K. That's really the only way right now to get consistent 120+ fps frame rates in 4K without lowering settings, and if you're gonna do that why are even on 4K. 4K and high refresh rates are still mutually exclusive unless you want to plunk down $2500 on GPU's.

Need those American prices asap.

It’s listed MSRP in US at $1399.. so might come out anywhere between 1299-1399$. We will see. What we need is availability.

I really wish I knew when the Predator X35 was coming out as I would love to have a review and comparison before I commit to the LG (I mean, if you are spending that much money might as well go all-in).. specifically when the X35 will be available and if the ghosting can be corrected in a different game mode/monitor setting. I mean the X35 is completely MIA with only a vague Q4 release statement.

Hah, looks like my UC98 is offended by my 950G order:

These lines appeared today and they won't go away even after disconnecting the source so this is an issue with the display. Not even 3 years old and already tons of stuck pixels and now this :p

Am I also seeing some dirt and stuck pixel there?

So Monday for the G review?

My life feels meaningless and without direction now that I’m no longer waiting for the GK950 review.. I guess I can perseverate about it’s release date now

I'm excited about reading the lg 34gk950g review, whenever it comes. I can wait, I've been waiting for months now. :) First I wanted to see what will be the RTX cards be like, this monitor was the other thing that I got fascinated about.

I'm building my first proper gaming PC this year and no matter what ultrawide I'll get, it will be a huge leap after really old 27" TN monitor.

It was many of the small things coming together about this LG (Freesync) monitor that it seemed like a really interesting monitor in the review.

I have this feeling that people except so much these monitors that they set themselves to some disappointment. No we don't have HDR1000, 165hz 4k monitor soon but I think these LG monitors might bring many small improvements that together make a great display. We'll see.

If the G Sync version shares such aspects with the "F" version as milder IPS glow, less blb (if that review sample wasn't cherry picked, or if in general there's less of it in these LG monitors) and if it really can pull off 120hz without degradation in picture quality - AND has less input lag as the Freesync version-

I'll definitely buy it. Sorry for the exited ramble, I really have nothing in technical knowledge to contribute but still, I've been following this thread all the way from July now and I'm really curious to read the coming review.

@kaidanovsky yeah, super psyched for this monitor. I've wanted a decent ultrawide for about 4 years now. The G model sounds like it might be the one! Checking tft central multiple times a day atm

I don't think we will get full reviews tomorrow. But 2(?) of the users here will hopefully get there monitors tomorrow and we will hear their thoughts on it.

Or... did I miss something? I sure hope I missed something, full reviews tomorrow would be fantastic. :)

I just got a confirmation from DHL that my 950G will be delivered today. However I won't have long enough DP cable and the cable I ordered is still not shipped, I only have long HDMI cables which means I will be limited to 50 Hz by HDMI 1.4 until DP cable arrives, so I will only look at things like bleed, glow, brightness, OSD and etc and generally picture quality. I won't even be able to compare side by side with my LG 34UC98 because my GPU has 3x DP and 1x HDMI, for whatever reason.

Can't you temporarily move your PC closer? For science!?

Depending on the specifics of layout of the house I think moving the monitors closer to the PC for the first day or so could be doable (since I think what is happening is that krzychowiec doesn't want to take the PC tower to the attic or something - maybe something to do with ladders or whatever to access??) and would enable a side by side comparison and testing of the G-Sync and 120 Hz. :D
