Well, this is rather interesting.

LG 38GL950G / 3840x1600 (curved) / G-Sync / 144Hz / 450 nits

Obviously not quite full HDR (not even close) and the backlight tech isn't given, but could be rather impressive.

I'm guessing £1500 at least though.

Is this using the LM375QW2 panel? Seems the HDR level has slipped from earlier leaks though

Given the 34GK950G is £1200, circa £1500 seems plausible, but who knows... if it's nearer £2K that's going to be painful, but it'll have the market to itself.

Ugh I almost hope the 38” is NOT going to be available soon because it basically ticks all my boxes. But I’m not waiting until 2020 to buy a new monitor...

A 1080Ti would do the job nicely. Even a 1080 wouldn't be too shabby, but if you're wanting to push the 144Hz, yeah, 2080Ti ideally. At the price this is going to be though, it's not for the budget gamer.

Why do new monitors have such long lead times between their announcement and availability? It seems to be much longer than any other PC component.

this was updated in the more recent panel development information from Lg.Display in October this year. LG.Display dropped the HDR spec from 1000 to 600. although it's not clear at this stage whether the 38GL950G monitor will feature HDR 600 even:

personally, I don't think it will have HDR - but this is 100% my opinion

I'd happily upgrade to a 38" 144Hz ultrawide - will be v.interesting to see the price given the cost of the higher spec gsync module.

And don't worry Daniel - I'm not expecting it anytime soon

Got excited when I saw it had G-Sync, then deflated when I saw the launch timeline, lol.
