LG 38UC99 - 37.5'' 24:10 3840x1600 75Hz IPS FreeSync Strobing Backlight

Reverted back to standard settings. What are the risks of expanding the freesync range? 52 as minimum is not great, and being able to go down to 32 or even 30 would be perfect.

Hi guys

I just got this monitor from OCUK arrived yesterday and this monitor is a beast makes my Dell 27" looks small.

the only problem I have is that my Graphics card has a Mini DisplayPort and not the full size and LG do no provide a cable or an adapter :( so at the moment cant use monitor waiting for a cable to turn up.

How about the HDMI cable?

Hi Tarkanuk,

its not common practice for monitor manufacturers to include anything mini-dp cable wise, this is mainly due to the fact there are not that many screens with native mini-dp - I know of all LG screens I deal with, we have none.

would still love your feedback once you get the screen hooked up and get her running

Hi there

New stock is incoming which is costing us £150 more exc. vat, it shall be landing soon and were down to around 30 units left so the price will be going up by around £100 later this week when new inventory lands.

You have being warned, grab one quick and beat the price increase. :)

Gotta say man, these look damn epic!! Just a shame I'm a nVidia user or I'd jump on one, especially at this price!

I just hope Acer are bringing a Gsync one out down the road....

I think it would play just as well together as any other standard 60hz screen without freesync/g-sync.

I tried the strobing for a short while and it didn't bother me at all. My eyes didn't instantly hurt by that setting. :-) However since it turns off freesync I went back to non-strobing but with freesync.

On expanding the freesync range, it may be possible, but running in the 30's is not pleasant. It IMO feels like strobing much worse than the actual strobing at 75hz, because the screen goes to 30's hz and I could feel it on my eyes that the hz was that low. I couldn't SEE the blinking but my head could feel it. So it feels better to have tearing or v-sync and run at 60hz/75hz than to have freesync and run at 30hz. That's probably why they didn't go that low. Anything above 40fps/hz is ok though, so expanding the freesync range form the default 52 down to 40 should be ok.

That's the gsync version, I am talking about the freesync version.

Ah sorry, it has also being replaced but it was not the best selling and now the new models are around £150 more expensive due to weak pound so we have pretty much held off taking any hoping Acer might sell some to us at a loss, but so far no luck.
