I've not seen an analysis of why sony/pan oleds are not similarly impacted, & because they don't seem to be, underlying panel tech would seem to be OK (unless son/pan panels are binned), so,
the gfx hardware remains - & since they have been able to alleviate some of these problems before, with firmware fixes,
I wonder if lg do a lot more in s/w , so don't have as much dedicated (vector) hardware/mips as sony/pan, to implement the best in class algorithms the competitors do.
Some avs comments, that folks with Atv's running external prime/netflix apps, avoid the issue, would support that.
