LG CX (C10) OLED 2020 Thread

I have finally finished setting up my 55 CX today and wow I am blown away. I have been messing with the settings to get things how I like and luckily it didn't take much. I have had a quick look at a 4K HDR video on both Netflix and Amazon as well as a couple of games on PS5. The picture is stunning! Such a massive upgrade over my 5 year old 1080p Sony LCD!

Got my CX yesterday after debating for all of 10 mins in store over the BX. SO glad I did as when I boasted to my thrift friend he ended up buyig one today, using top cash back, his blue light, 10% off voucher and the fact it dropped £100 overnight for a total price of £1046!

I nearly cried as I juust spent £1399 on it yesterday lol but went into currys and they price matched their £100 drop and also the 10% voucher from vochercloud (if anyone is interested) for a total price reduction of £229.90. So glad I never chose the BX as I pretty much got the CX for a similar price.

TV is really good. First thing I did was calibrate the TV using Rtings reccomended settings then download the LG demo with the honey for some eye candy visuals :D

Been playing assasins creed and the difference from the older TV is very much noticable and a good upgrade. I love the fact you can do voice commands it makes things so efficient

Hi all
I am planning to use an LG CX 77 TV in conjunction with a Sonos Arc for use for PC/PS5 gaming. I am especially keen about the the Arc due to its Dolby Atmos capabilities. However, I am really confused about how it will be connected. I have an Nvidia RTX 3080 on the way for the PC. The way I thought the connections would work is:
1) Connect RTX 3080 to LG CX TV using HDMI 2.1
2) Connect LG CX TV (on another HDMI 2.1 port - these will have eARC by default I guess?) to the Sonos ARC using another HDMI 2.1

Does the above make any sense, or am I getting it wrong? If so, do I need an audio card on the PC at all?
Also, what are the negatives of this setup? For example, I heard that there is some issue with passing stero sound ot the Sonos through LG CX. If this is true, how can I resolve it?

Thanks a bunch in advance!
Ive been having loads of trouble with this. No matter what connection I use going from the TV to a receiver creates an audio delay that's very noticable and nothing in the settings can speed up audio.

Not sure if its a fault or if all the CXs are like this very tempted to return it

I've got my PC connected to the TV directly, then the TV connected to my amp, but I don't have eArc, still it should be cabale of Dolby Atmos, and when I turn the TV on it turns my amp on, but it's hit and miss, sometimes it doesn't and I have to find the amp remote.

Do you get an audio delay? Its driving me up the wall. I'm not sure if I got a faulty tv or if theyre all like that

Can't say I've ever noticed any audio delay to be honest. Isn't there a setting to do with audio delay in the settings? I'll have to have a look later.

Think I’m pretty much settled on the 48” CX, Curry’s only seem to have dropped it by £10 - what happened to the classic Boxing Day sales?!

Can you definitely not squeeze the 55 in? It's cheaper than the 48 and dropped another £100 in the sale. I was also going for the 48 but went for the 55 for this reason and am glad I did!

Sadly not, currently have a 43” from ~7 years ago so the 48” is already going to be a squeeze!

I went from a 43 inch too, massive increase! I whipped out the tape measure and slightly rearranged my setup to make sure the 55 could fit!

Anyway CX is a brilliant TV so if you can only go for the 48 you'll still be impressed

Getting rumours out about 2021 models.

Main difference so far is fixing bugs/issues regarding HDMI 2.1 VRR like gamma curves etc and more importantly 2021 OLED models seem to have a ew pixel layout that results in the panels getting 30% brighter

Ive only noticed a setting that increases the delay further...... Maybe I have a faulty TV hearing that others dont have this issue

unlikely a faulty TV. I watched a HDTV test video which covered this bit well and makes sense. When your going console / GPU into TV and then TV eARC/ ARC into AVR. Your trying to deliver the picture in the fastest possible manor to the TV to display the image, usually with ALLM so absolute minimal processing, more so when doing 120hz so talking 6 or so ms, yet the Audio still needs to go through the chain, to the AVR, get processed and then signal from AVR to speakers. While we are talking ms differences, it can be enough that for some people it can be apparent. For myself it can be noticeable in some content when going RTX 3090 --> OLED --> eARC to AVR and as you say the only options you get is to delay audio further. Last few mins of this video explains much better then me:

I'm waiting for the C1 model next year, I heard the VRR black washout issue can't be fixed with software. Hopefully the x1 models have fixed it via updated panels.

So pleased i bought the CX 48" for the pc to pair up with my 3090FE rock solid panel, even my 65" C8 downstairs is holiding up with zero issues of burn in after two years, if i can get 5 years from it i will be happy :)

I think the best reason to hold out for 2021 refresh may be price, im of the understanding that they have moved to a completely new process that is set to reduce the cost of smaller and bigger panels substantially. Thus we might get a much more fairly priced 48 as im after it as a monitor right now.
