LG CX (C10) OLED 2020 Thread

Only 200mb? I think 200mb is more than enough now and in the future for most things including streaming 4k UHD content. I wouldnt call it slow.

The 200mb is slow for games. and 200mb might be ok for streaming if you're the only person living in the house.;)

The reason why I mention the BX & CX is because some people buy it but didn't know if there was a difference, if you're spending over 1K for a TV you want the best and OLED is King:)
I know mate but that extra £300 would help out at Christmas for me and the 4 kids, wife, dog, cat ..... etc etc (small violin) lol

I do understand even £250 will give your family a good Christmas:) and the BX is still an OLED to enjoy if you get time to watch it:D

had the OLED 55 CX about two weeks now. Great stuff (coming from a 11 year old sharp - still works though)!

Anyway, any suggestions for a good sound bar £200<> or thereabouts? With good bass/mids etc? The TVs actually quite loud for audio, but probably needs a bit more kick for films etc.

Why do you need to shake the house with the bass;) poor neighbours:D

In one sense you made a terrible choice in going with the 77" version of the TV in the first place as this will only exaggerate this issue, I do feel for you that you are one of the many people (but by most accounts not all) that even notice this in the first place.

On a 48" or 55" version of the same panel the issue is practically non-existent just because the scale is so much less

Unfortunately there are pros and cons to every kind of tech out there and as the old saying goes "you pay your money and you take your choice". :)

yeah all lg OLEDs are stuck at 100mb which I agree with you in this day and age is nigh on criminal - but to give them credit the wifi onboard is amazing, Im streaming full bitrate 4k over wifi with no issue at all (doesn't excuse the poor LAN port admittedly)

From my experience (worked in IT for 30 years) most home wifi setups are pretty terrible relying on ISP standard bb modem , even fibre modem wifi isn't much better.

I always use fixed cabling if at all possible, its hugely more reliable once its working where as wifi can be affected by environment out of yuour control (like neighbours having a stronger signal in certain areas etc etc and can cost a lot more in certain circumstances to get working well especially if you need 4k bandwidth.

48'', 55'' , 65'' is too tiny for me. Just horrible unimpressive not cinematic experience. I prefer 77'' but even that wasn't that big tbh.
Playing on projectors has ruined gaming for me. everything feels like a postage stamp and so un-epic.. and i'd hate to game at desk now when i can game with my arendals and subs destroying the room.

Might have to try and buy a JVC projector at some point and Sony OLED HDMI 2.1 next year. :(

its insane i prefer epson 9300 to LG OLED. and everyone who has been in my cinema room strangely agrees they prefer the PJ.

I wish they'd release 88''+ wall mountable OLED for under £10k :(

2020 panasonics sit between bx/cx at £1150 currently, if you don't need hdmi2.1/120hz gaming, should provide better movie/freeview picture quality with low bitrate netflix/amazon streaming, I'd even consider a 2019 pan oled before a bx too.

We’ve just bought our first OLED and what a game changer it’s been.

We opted for the 77” GX for the flush wall mounting but correct me if I’m wrong the panels are identical to the CX

Amazon, Netflix and Disney+ are spot on however loving 4K Blu-rays via the Xbox One X

Need to upgrade the sound bar next.

77inch GX enjoy:) there is no difference to GX - CX only panel size, if they didn't design the 77inch there will never be a 48inch OLED

You do know that the BX is α7 Gen3 Processor OLED compare to the CX α9 Gen3 Processor so the BX is cheaper for an entry level OLED but the choice is yours;)

i guess thats obvious... the reviews suggest they are pretty similar so if you are coming from an older screen then it’s a big leap regardless. I have a BX but kinda wish I had gone CX only so I knew I had that extra polish ontop. Reality is I’m more than happy now as I’m sure the CX is better but not 20% better. :)

The only difference I have noticed - admittedly its between a 55" B9 and a 48" CX - is that the B9 struggles to decode a few of my 4k BR's (all the main star wars discs it struggles with particularly within seconds of the film starting) although it can play majority of the rest of my collection without issue (I have over 150 4k discs so its a reasonable quality check)

I haven't had a chance to check as the CX was only delivered yesterday, but the recent LOTR 4k / Beverly Hills Cop both seem to be working perfectly (Ive only tried 1st extended disc of Fellowship admittedly) will update when I have a chance to try ANH etc.

Had my CX for a couple of weeks now and it is amazing. I thought my previous Plasma was fine and didn't have any complaints but I didn't know what I as missing.

My wife now calls our plasma in the other room the black & white tv !
