LG Flatron 29UM65-P (29") UltraWide Monitor Owners Thread

Virgin 100MB here, can't complain really, just wish the overall quality of the connection was better...

I would have a look at mobile network providers, 3 are the best for internet stuff, speeds are great. I just got a sim only deal so £12.90 for unlimited internet although when I tether to PC/tablet, I can only tether 2GB.

The only thing that annoys me about this monitor is that since the bezel is so thin, there's a black border round the monitor

You mean the black borders at the sides and top? If so, it is suppose to be like that :p Love how this monitor is bezel chassis free, every other monitor just looks so dated with the thick plastic chassis now :p, if only the bottom was the same as well though!

PS. This wallpaper looks utterly fantastic on this monitor, the colours are just insane and the wideness/21.9 aspect ratio for skyline wallpapers =

Only?! Still would be too long for me! :p

hehe, that would be great, would be truly bezel free then  The one thing I wish LG did differently was the plastic finish, I HATE glossy plastic, matte finish would look 100 times better.

Indeed! Honestly don't think they could have done a better job with the anti-glare coating

Bought some of that antec screen cleaning stuff from ocuk the other day, will only use it whenever I really need to though...

I don't really mind that much, just takes a little longer :)

Can't wait until I get Internet, I wanna watch anime on this monitor :D

Funnily enough anime is the one thing putting me off getting this monitor. Seeing as I have a very poor grasp of Japanese I rely on subtitles. This means having to watch the show in the original aspect ratio or risk losing the subtitles by zooming in.

Please correct me if I'm wrong because I'm in a serious dilemma as to what monitor to buy.

You don't have to zoom in, and iirc it'll only stretch the width so you should still have the subs, I will check for you ;)

What type of monitor did you upgrade from? I'm currently on a aged 24" 1200p TN Dell display.
I don't like the thought of losing that extra vertical height but it would be a massive improvement in both width and viewing angles. Ideally they would have a monitor somewhere between this and the out of my price range 34" 3440x1440.
