I just wanted to jump in here and say how much I am loving my LG super wide monitor. I picked up mrk's LG 29EB93-P from the MM and absolutely love it, 21:9 is a revelation in itself never mind moving from an old hannsg hg281d 16:10 with its featureless TN panel.
Colours are fantastic though at first seemed almost washed out, now moving between the two the hannsg seems almost too saturated and IQ is poor now I can directly compare the two with little in the way of sharp image quality. It did take some getting used to the lack of vertical screen space compared to a 16:10 monitor but it is a price worth paying and easily corrected with the 34" model
The unit itself looks superb, very refined with its tiny lip and almost edge to edge screen effect, albeit a bit of a con when you fire it up and find the extra border hidden under the initially viewable yet almost faultless Anti glare layer.
The one visible panel at the bottom of the screen looks very sleek with its brushed aluminium effect finish and the touch sensitive button work an absoloute treat, far more refined than the clunky side mounted buttons on my old 28".
It feels hard to imagine moving back to a standard aspect ratio now having experienced this and I am pretty much set to pick up a 34" LG in the coming months to pair with the 29", doing away with the hanns g altogether and mounting the two 21:9's stacked.
I do experience a little ghosting but oddly much less so in fast FPS games, most noticeable is in Dayz epoch of all places and only when response time is on high, not an issue really as epoch is hardly fast paced so knocking the response time down to medium is not a problem and does away with the minimal ghosting.
All in all id say 21:9 is a winning formula my self, why it isn't more readily available I do not know as in games that support it you get a much more immersive experience and in a productive scenario you just have so much more functional space, I say functional because of the added width, vertical space is great and welcome too but stacking windows seems so counter intuitive compared to working with multiple horizontal windows IMO.
To sum up, glad to be in the club
