LG OLED 2023 Thread - A3, B3, C3, G3

Good to know. I am willing to shell out at the current price so any discount will be a bonus.

I'm not sure I want to wait until the new year though, I need some 4k goodness back in my life. The ex kept my old TV and I've been stuck with a 1080p 48" Samsung ever since. Its run its course.

If it helps Very have the 65C3 at £1899 (like many retailers at the moment) but they offer 10% back on buy now pay later.

So you’d be looking at £1700.

If you’ve not got an account with them they normally offer 20% off new orders.

That’s probably the best deal at the moment.

In terms of peak lows the 65C2 hit £999 at currys and that included a series S lol.

Otherwise prices hovered at around £1200-£1400 depending on the retailer.

For me while I like low prices, I also value customer service if there’s an issue. Some retailers make exchanges extremely painful.

I’d imagine the 65” C3 will be around 13-1400 Black Friday.

A few days ago PRC had it for £1499 but like I mentioned if you have an issue exchanges might be more painful.

Good luck with your search….

Well it’s all going. The Japanese YouTube videos are very impressive, the PC games not really. Horizon Zero Dawn looked better with HDR off than on. :D My 1070 can’t drive Gsync so that’ll need an upgrade next. Really wish that I’d kept a PS5 handy now.

Make sure you're using the correct settings and watch some decent HDR stuff, Pacific Rim is a very good example of HDR.

But yeah PS5 with stuff like FFXVI show HDR really well in the boss battles.

Forbidden West HDR is pretty good.

I'm having a bit of doubt over the 65" C3, I fear it'll be a little wasted.

I mainly play Xbox at my work desk where I have 2 28" Samsung UH750 4k monitor. They're quantum dot monitors so the colour is brilliant, but there's no HDR. They also have freesync capabilties. The only other time I play Xbox is with my 5 year old son in the living room, this is the TV I would have replaced with the 65" C3 but I just know I'll still wanna play at my desk. I have my steering wheel which clamps onto my desk for Forza and I just prefer a PC like setup for my Xbox.

I'd love to replace both of these monitors with a single 42" C3 but I would still like a 65" HDR TV for the living room, I can't afford both OLED's though so would settle for a 65" TV with HDR for around £7-800. Currently looking at the Amazon Omni QLED.

Are the B or even A models worth looking at over Black Friday weekend for the living room? I don't imagine I'll be picking one up for £800 though.

Just got myself a 42" C3 for PC use, so desktop, gaming, work & media.

Any must do settings or tweaks I need? Do I need to turn on HDR for the desktop? Already changed the default settings to 3840x2160 at 120Hz which is much better.

Watch the video a few posts above, you'll turn down the OLED brightness and increase warmth for a PC monitor work use. You can switch HDR on and off manually for gaming (and use Windows 11 Auto HDR for SDR games) but I haven't tried that yet.

65" G3 is on the rainforest for £2099. Are they trustworthy?!?! I feel like I'd prefer RS for £2299, as customer service will be better.

These were going for £1570ish on LG's website. Currently out of stock but worth setting up an alert (theyve gone in and out of stock a few times now) and seeing if they're still putting vouchers on everyones' accounts
