LG OLED55B7V price hikes everywhere??

Just to confirm once again how amazing these TVs are. I got the 55C7V model a couple of months ago (from what I can tell only the stands are different) and I couldn't be happier.

Yeah my c7 is the best TV I've ever owned to be fair. I'm often left wowed by the image. The gf isn't happy with 65" though :p

£1419 at richersounds with code.

I need 2x C7 65inch this year or even 2x C8 65 inch when that comes out soon gonna be an expensive year.

I'm not really a TV-guy, but I saw a 65" C7 at someone's house two weekends ago, and for the first time in a long while I was truly WOW'd by the technology. Even my girlfriend was memorised by the vibrant colours and picture quality. I really want one now, but struggling to justify the 5.5x increase over the Sony 50" I bought 4 years ago.

Definitely keen to see how much the 65" C8s are going to cost, because that new processor in them sounds really good.

Aye, i really want the 65 on both lol, one for the main living room and one for my man cave upstairs :D

So I've been fiddling around with the TV lately and I am wondering what settings everyone is using, or what website you used to set the TV up?

Pretty much all websites out there have obsolete guides as there have been software updates since the TV was released.

So for me:

SDR - technicolor, OLED light 40%, brightness 51% (to set brightness, you need a pitch black room with a 100% black image on the TV and adjust the brightness until you see a "glow", once you do, you then reduce it back down by one click until black is black i.e. no glow, generally it will either be 51 or 52)
HDR - technicolor
Dolby Vision - Cinema

Interesting, thank you for the answer. These are not your personal settings from what I understand, may I ask where you found them?

prices for this set back up to £1800 everywhere. WTF it was £1479 2 weeks ago ?
It was dropped for the Easter sale.

They had to put it up between New Year and the middle of March so they could discount it, now it’s back up so they can discount it again when the new ones come out.

Is the c7 exclusive to Curry's pc world? Seems they've come down to 1600 but still nowhere near what it used to be.
Richersounds also do them, but only through phone orders to the sales team.
They are not allowed to advertise them instore/online.

Also looks like the 2018 model reviews are coming out.

TLDR: very little difference apart from HDR gaming is better on the 2018 model.

Vincents c8 comments/pics on near black detail and benefit of better mpeg noise processsing are interesting,
using mpeg noise reduction (freeview streams) definitely/unexpectedly improved my non-oled panasonic near-black picture significantly (plus fixing the gamma curve)
maybe vincent compares near black panasonic oled vs lg oled processing performance elsewhere.
