LG Viewty viewers

Viewty came today what a great phone the touch screen is great no problems at all, just want to ask about charging for the first time do i have to charge it for a set time ? thanks for that link Kieran looks like some good things you can add to these.
I didnt leave mine for a set time and its fine but I would leave it connected and charging while u get used to it just to be on the safe side.
As for bits and bobs to increase your battery life huge amounts make sure you turn power save mode on.

Isn't it usually advised to leave a new battery charging over night? Never the less, I doubt its important.

thinking of getting this phone too, where did you get it for free on a £20 contract? or was it an upgrade? looking forward to see how you get on with it in the mean time
I got this with a upgrade tbh the lady i spoke to about it the next day was suprised i had got it free on a £20 tarrif(originall 25 but they reduced line rental for it) as its only free on a £35 one.
My intial thoughts are great phone touch screen is fine works perfect, seen a few complain but i can't see what the problem is, got a 2 gig card coming so i am restricted use atm and the phone software won't work on vista 32bit, but i imagine with the 2 gig card i won't need to use it.
The slow motion video is great been snapping the cats playing does look great, and having proper vga recorder on it aswell means vids look the biz.

there is a plalstic cover thing over the lens out of the box. I've not taken it off yet and the pics look ok to me.
Looking to get one of these as ive fell in love with it since i saw the TV ad for it, i'm currently with 3 though

On 3 here too and Have been trying to upgrade with a viewty as it seems great having read and played with it but they won't budge from the normal price plan / prices. I was hoping they would apply my loyalty discount I got last year but no. I might threaten to leave...

In my personal experience with e2save for 2 contracts, their redemption system has worked ok.

Took me abit of understanding first i had to do this.
First of all make sure your phone is in "Data Service" mode by going to:-
Menu - Settings - Phone Settings - Connectivity - USB connection mode - Data Service.
With the phone connected open EFS MEDIA BUILDER.
Click on EFS Explorer
Now tick the box next to the port the phone is in and hit connect.
In the top portion of the screen go to LGapp/Media/swf/theme
In the bottom section browse to where you have the new file stored, right click and choose write.
It does work i copied and pasted that from what somone said, there is one of the touch screen icons that reboots the phone one mine but i just don't use it, and it dont' seem to do it to everyone.
I originally wanted this phone, but I saw the Sony Eric 960i so I got that instead. I actually ended up getting miffed off with the sluggishness of it - so I took it back and went back with my first choice... The Viewty - in silver!!
I'm totally impressed with the phone, its pretty quick and slick. The texting is darn good on it too - I shall be getting a few little 'widgets' on this baby for sure. It just has a quality solid feel about it, the 120video mode is mucho fun too - well in good light!
