LG Viewty viewers

Hmm,

I am swinging between this and the Iphone tbh. This has far more features but am I reading the specs right when it says there is no WI-FI? Sucks if that is the case :(

Its the only real gripe i have with the phone :(

Theres some nice themes in the theme manager program its just a little slow. I found the origional theme in the theme manager folder, i didn't realise it was there :p
 
That's a pitty as I sometimes like to just have a browse on the Ipod Touch I have and I don't get very good reception from Tmobile in my house.
 
For some reason theme manager makes your phone really slow, i put it in tried it and removed it just use the iphone style theme now on its own.

In terms of camera I'm yet to find a better one on a phone than the K810, works brilliant at night and in shakey conditions. I personally think it's better in daylight shots than the N95 too tbh.

What's the anti shake like on the viewty compared to the K810i?
 
I was out with my mate yesterday who happens to have a K850i. That camera wipes the floor of the Viewty. To say this phone was marketed as a camera phone i am really not imprest. Hopfully LG get their finger out and actually try sorting it out in a later firmware.
At this moment in time I'm backing up my Orange firmware and installing the debranded version. Fingers crossed :D.

Edit: All is good, the icons are better than the oranges firmware.

Does anyone have any decent MSN applications for this phone? I have ebuddy web browser but I would prefer an application based program.
Also I purchased a Martin Feild Protector and its 10x better than the origional LG protector. I'm very imprest.

ebuddy has an application based version. when you load up the ebbudy site, i think its called 'get faster ebuddy' or something. just open that link and follow the instructions to download a java version of it. its pretty good to, uses the touch screen pretty well.

Just tried that, the Viewty doesnt seem to show up in the drop down menu. Grrrr.
 
Cant find the KE850. I'll try the LG Shine and see how it goes :).
Meh installs fine, logs me out my msn on my PC. It just wont log into msn on my phone. Boooo :mad: lol.

In my opinion (as a j2me developer) the viewty is lumpy and unpleasant to use. I would stick with the 6500 classic.

Kinda want a large screen/good camera.

The size of the 6500 is ideal, but would rather have the camera/screen size though..

not after using one you wouldnt. that large screen has a pretty basic ui and the phone itself is just slow and gets slower. by all means go and give one a good test but dont just go and buy a viewty unless you want us all to say 'i told you so'....

Thats what im worried about :p

The only other phone that looks any good with touchscreen (bar the iPhone) are the HTC's.

Quite like the Vario, but its too big!
 
touch screen isnt the be all and end all. i got the viewty because it looked great and i was pretty impressed with it in the store, but you quickly get frustrated with it and as the touchscreen is the older Resistive type its far less responsive than the iphone's capacitive touchscreen. they really are worlds apart.

Holding off getting the iphone.

Which ever i get will most likely be replaced by the V2 iPhone.
