Liam Payne dead at 31 (One direction)

yeah I read somewhere he threatened to kill himself before as a means of controlling her.
well he just killed himself so how does that work?
I hate this mentallity, yes there are cases where that occurs, but clearly the dude was very unwell that went deeper than just 'i need to be in this relationship at all costs'.

Male mental health is stigmatised as it is.

Not sure what the balance is between supporting someone who has mental health issues vs allowing them to manipulate someone they are in a relationship with to maintain a relationship or exert controlling behaviour? if YOU leave me , I'll kill myself and it'll be YOUR fault. unlike most 'normal' people he had access to as much help as he could ever need, but probably never took it.

from the 911 call and the hotels reception it was all drugs/alcohol, 3 days locked in the room etc.

RIP but it all often seems to end up the same way for these people with money, time and fame.. sad.

Not sure if true but apparent pictures of his hotel room are doing the rounds - totally trashed, tv smashed and hard drugs everywhere... Fits with the phone recording to the police I guess. Always makes me wonder - when you arrive in a new country how the hell do people end up with that many drugs? If I'm abroad and I need some paracetamol it's normally a nightmare to get hold of
He was in South America!

The crazy thing is if he hadn't followed his dream and just lived a normal life that the majority of us have, he would probably be still alive.

Fame is a funny old thing that evolution is yet to adapt for.

Read one report and the way they chose to state that he died was one I've never seen before:

"Payne is said to have fallen from the third storey and sustained injuries incompatible with life"

I just found it odd phrasing.

As for the drink/drug reports, there are numerous sources so it's probably a good bet.

Obviously it means he looked pretty messed up.

A lot of people who live "normal" lives die young or commit suicide.

The majority of famous people live very good lives and aren't destroyed by it.

There's also the other side of the coin, where not following your dream can lead to mental health problems. Many people end up depressed because they did not follow their dreams.

The other 4 who were in the band seem to be doing just fine.
