I use the WD Sata cables on the two WD hdd's in my V2000 - they reach to top of mobo no problem - just reverse the hdd so cables are out of sight and routed up back.

;)

how have you managed to do this. i have a v1000 ,and have just spent best part of an hour with it in pieces trying to get the cages mounted the other way around. no matter how i seem to build it back the hdd's still project too far out for the cables to plug in, and for the panel to go back on.

unless i need to drill some holes, and re-mount the hdd cage closer to the rhs of the case...

You dont move the cages - just slide the hdd's in with cable attachment first as shown on my earlier pic.

I had a small hole cut out of the divider plate at the back-side to let me route up the hdd cables that way which shortens the required length to get to the mobo.

Near identical to each other really, save for the door. 201 is a few cm smaller as well. Given the door vs all the holes on the V2000, I imagine it may not run as cool, but I doubt it would make any difference on performance. Depends which look you prefer really.
