** LIAN-LI PC-O11 DYNAMIC - IT'S RAZER TIME **

Well I got mine yesterday and have started the long journey that is transferring my system over to the new case as this is also the first time i am doing any sort of water cooling and I have gone in at the deep end with a custom loop (soft tubing rather than hardline) i am taking my time to try and get everything nice and neat.

So far this has been a joy to work with on the most part (a couple of minor niggles but I am sure that is builder error rather than case error)

I have started a log in the project logs (https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/t...build-with-first-time-water-cooling.18849767/) for anyone interested in my journey with this case.

Otherwise having just unwrapped it, I have found a couple of marks on the front panel I don't seem to be able to get rid of. Tried with a microfibre cloth but they don't seem to want to budge.
You have removed the plastic film from both the inside and outside of both panels right? The glass is tough to mark, I'm hoping you've just caught the plastic and forgot its on there.

Yep 100% removed the plastic covering on both sides.

I've finished installing things, but I need to work on cable management for the cables outside of the case. I think the best idea might be something like adhesive clips under the desk that I can use to route cables out of sight.

Anyone got any personal recommendations for what to use for cable routing? I don't want to drill the desk as it's solid wood, or i would reinstall my old IKEA signum probably.

I've finally finished sanding and oiling the desk too, and installing the new monitor mount. Current setup just below (excuse messy cabling):

2LtlJoih.jpg

Inside the case is reasonably tidy, plenty of room on the right. I'll probably need to put some fans in.

The lights are Hue Blooms, but I'd potentially replace them with 2 x Hue Plays as the Blooms don't give out identical light colours for some reason. I was considering a new lightstrip for the back of the desk but I think where the monitor arm is would prove to be a problem in terms of positioning.

I turned off the lighting and took the glass off so you guys can see inside it better:

That first picture sold me, looks amazing!

Just put an order in for one, I've got the white 570x so don't really need it but it does look too nice not to have.

Edit: Also what monitor mount is that? I have a cheap Van Haus one but it just sags and it's ridiculously hard to loosen the screws to move it.

Glad you like it :)

The monitor arm is this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/AmazonBasics-Single-Monitor-Display-Mounting/dp/B00MIBN16O/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=amazon+basics+monitor+arm&qid=1552950576&s=gateway&sr=8-1-catcorr&srs=1624982031&th=1

LONG delivery lead time of 1-2 months at the moment though. It is a very heavy duty bit of kit.

It's exactly the same as the Ergotron LX though if you wanted one sooner, with the exception that the Ergotron LX is silver and black. Most of my stuff is black so I went for the black one, it was a bit cheaper too. The box even had Ergotron named on it so it's definitely the same people that make it!

I'm changing a few bits around still, namely;
  • I have swapped the 2 x Hue Bloom lights for 2 x Hue Play bars, the main reason for this was because the Blooms were outputting different colours on the same settings, despite the fact that they were the exact same model. The Play Bars go stupidly bright, I have them on at 50% at the moment.
  • I need a longer USB A to USB B cable, at the moment it's just going along the wall from my amp to the PC :p
  • Since the previous pic I added the ThermalTake Riing Trio fans on the right as intakes.
  • I am expecting delivery of an MSI Gaming X 2080 in the next couple of days, so that will go in my case instead of the Ventus one that is installed, which is going back as it's got a faulty fan.
  • My Nixie clock power supply died I need a new one :(
Phone camera is blowing the lighting out a bit (the fans aren't super bright like they are in the picture for example!), but as things stand this is my desk today:

Looking very nice!

We've both got a very similar set up, same Huntsman Elite keyboard, similar monitor I've got the Predator X34P instead of the AW, same Ikea Alex drawers and I assume that's the Ikea Karlby too? Mine looks a bit darker than that, and after looking at your set up I feel like I might have to get some lights behind the desk as they look superb!

And are they the Philips Fidelio X1s? I have the X2s sat around doing nothing after buying the Beyer DT1990s :p

I've currently got the MSI 2080 Gaming X Trio in my rig, might have to look into getting an AIO for it or something as it gets a bit loud, could just be because I have the fans on low though... I have read the Gaming X is very quiet though.

Also, if you wanted the fans on the side as intake you may need to swap them around, looks like they're in the exhaust set up? I'm thinking of having 3 fans on the bottom as intake and 3 on top for exhaust but I'm not sure yet

I was actually looking at getting that monitor arm, wasn't sure how pronounced the Amazon branding on the stand would be though? I've been looking at the Invision ones which look alright, do want to spend a bit more money and get something good though.

In order:

Similar desk etc like you said, my worktop is the solid wood Hammarp though stained with Danish Oil :)

For headphones yes, the Fidelio X1's! I really like them not in a rush to swap to something else.

I believe the MSI Gaming X at least stops the fans at idle, under load it's not a big deal if it's a bit noisier to me, as long as it's not crazy loud lol.

Good spot on the fans, I assumed the front facing bit would direct airflow that way, but thinking about it, as the fans are normally radiator ones they probably want to show the logo on the back.

Amazon branding on the monitor arm is minimal, I don't notice it. The whole arm is reasonably stealthy as it's black. Just the long delivery time lets it down a bit.

Very nice worktop, really liking how light it is.

I loved my X2s but one of the earpads just came apart so I bought some official replacements and they've changed the material on the outside so they gather dust like there's no tomorrow, and they also changed the sound signature so they didn't sound as 'full' pretty much the only reason why I bought the 1990s.

Yeah it'll be more than fine I think, I just assumed for the Trio to have such a ridiculous heatsink on it, it would be silent but it's definitely not quite that, with the Gaming X only having two fans it may fare better in that department, maybe some fans at the bottom of the O11 would help with that.

It does tend to be the uglier side of the fans that are the intake, should have an arrow on the fan itself just to be sure, though I've not known a fan to have the other side as intake! Not sure what fan set up to have for the O11 yet, thinking 3 bottom as intake and top 3 on the rad as exhaust as I only have 6 Corsair Lightloop fans.

Think I'll have to get it, £100 feels a bit steep for a monitor arm to me but as long as it's a quality bit of it you can't ask for much more I guess!

Sorry it is the Gaming X Trio that I have coming too, but it should be fine I think, under load I normally have headphones on :)

X1 earpads still seem OK, I'll keep an eye on them but for the time being I am happy. I'd love a good wireless set of headphones to remove cables but I think I'd lose something in the process (sound quality).

For lighting the Hue stuff is good, but I am in the Hue ecosystem quite heavily already, and they are v expensive. I was considering a Lightstrip for behind the desk but I think the monitor arm would get in the way of it, and cables dangling through it would cause funny shadows. The portable lights also offer some re-use later where the lightstrip needs sticking back on with a new double sided tape.

It'll probably be fine in the O11, it might be just because I have my rad in the front currently.

Yeah the latency on an actual good wireless headphones puts me off a bit, wired is fine for me since I sit right next to my DAC anyways.

The HUE system does look pricey but the results look like it's worth the money, I think I'll just end up with a simple LED strip eventually though.

I was just looking for an Alex to put to the side of my current desk but this has made me think about getting 2 and getting a worktop as you and a few others have. Can I ask how wide that top is? I think they come in a couple of widths, and will check, but will be good to get an idea of that space.

Great looking setup by the way. I've just had my H150i Turn up today so want to transplant my sustem in, but wanted to sort out the desk first, so having the patience of a saint. How are you finding the tint on the side panel? There appears (at least on mine) to be a difference between front and side, and wondered if the side came across as 'dark' TG to you or just enough?

Hi mate, it's the 186CM wide version I have: https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products...accessories/hammarp-worktop-oak-art-70273799/

For 1 person definitely enough room at 186CM, Alex drawers are about 40CM wide so you can somewhere in the region of 1M width of legroom.

I'd consider getting the wider one if I knew I was going to keep it in place for years and needed more space (I think wider would be better if I wanted additional stuff on my desk).

I decided on 186CM though as it gives me more future flexibility in terms of moving it to a new house (planning that at some point), and subsequent positioning is more flexible.

This solid wood worktop does need finishing though (sanding + danish oil in my case).

Tint on the side panel isn't too noticeable to me, especially if you have stuff that lights up behind it.

Brill. Wasnt sure if it was the 246cm version. I'd love that but dont have the space. Time to put a plan in motion :) Loving that setup - its similar to what I want in my minds eye, hence why I want to get rid of my desk.

If you get a chance and its not a pain - if you put both panels next to each other on the same surface, are the tints the same or different?

I can check that one for you later on, I reckon it will be though :)

I've changed a couple of things since that pic, got a new 2080 installed (MSI one - also lights up).

Still need to reverse the fans around.

Ordered a longer USB cable from the DAC to the PC.

At least temporarily switched my lights around again, put my Hue Go lights there for now, which look pretty smart anyway. I found the Hue Play bar PSU had some coil whine problems so it's going back. The Hue Blooms are great but I'd probably need to get a new one and work out which of mine is faulty.

Added some cable management (abused wrapping the cables around the monitor arm lol):

The following was mine when I did an unpack and inventory check.

Havent yet peeled the covers off but maybe will try a corner to see. Just interested to know if I have somehow got 2 odd panels (though not sure how). Builds such as yours and others Ive seen look fine, so as long as mine are the same same panels I'm ok with that - otherwise I will try to contact someone.

Loving those cable tracks for under the desk - where did you pick those up from?

Overall the case looks great and easy to build in. I cant wait to start but told myself I wouldnt until I had EVERYTHING ready :D

These are the cable track things, stuck a couple on the back of the left Alex drawer as well for my power lead feed in.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07C9ZWH1H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Not cheap, and I think I used 4 out of the 9 track runs, and none of the extras it came with! :p

Using Mammoth double sided tape to stick that power brick under the desk lol. The cable tracks came with adhesive backs and seem to be sticking OK so far.

I'll get you a pic of the panels tonight, prob home after 19:30.

Thanks again. Think £20 is reasonable for that. I was wondering if you just screw mounted that strip tbh. Will appreciate it if you can get some comarison pics. I will lielly unpack it again and do the peel to get another picture. have you got a build thread. Its a great minimal setup and you should def make one - loving the setup (and yes I am likely to unashamedly steal some ideas!)

Got some comp pics for you :)

For Pic 1 - this is just set against my monitor box. There is a clear difference here when the background is white.

VZicbdhh.jpg

For pic 2 - this is showing what it's like with something dark behind it. I think the darker background really plays down any differences.

I think it's an important thing to note here, in reality with a dark case internal and darkish components, there is not a clear distinguishing difference that is obvious to me. The components inside just look a bit more tinted when viewed through the side panel.

Floor needs a bit of a hoover :)

vO1yRA7h.jpg

For Pic 3 this is the case with the panels on:

Camera makes the lights look brighter than they are, however hopefully you can see that the fans aren't crazy different when viewed through side or front panel:

Hope this helps :)

*saves for later*

Those cable runners look great! The case is arriving tomorrow after having it pre-ordered for a few days with the DA Elite mouse, also ordered some of the Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro as well as the LEDs on my current Vengeance RGB's in white have started to go a bit dim on one end and really spoils the look so they'll be going back, somehow the RGB Pro's are £120 cheaper than what I paid for the Vengeance RGB's? Not sure how that is but hey I'll take it.

Tempted to change my Strix Z370 board for the Maximus Z390 Hero just for the darker look but I'm not sure, kind of wanted to go for a stealthy build but with RGB fans and components, need to do some tinkering.

Also how are the temps with the fans on the side as exhaust and no intake fans? I really want them on the side as exhaust but also want some of the bottom as intake, only got 6 fans though....
