Lian Li V1000+ & Tagan Easycon PSU

I think I want to get some rounded IDE, SATA2 and floppy cables to improve airflow in my V1000+ when I get it. Do you know what lengths I will need for this case?

The IDE is for optical drive(s), the SATA for HD.

Very nice!

One thing to mention, the PSU draws its air from the bottom of the case usually, so you may be blocking its cool air off by not using feet of any kind.

But if you cant hear the PSU spinning slightly faster (if its thermaly controlled) then its fine. :)

Annoys the hell out of me when my PSU makes any noise thats all, I like to have the noise in my control. :p

Depends if you want to do cable tidying, rounded cables can actually be worse than normal ones due to the layout in the v1000+ not using a 'in out' style cooling system.

Your better of just keeping the ones that came with your motherboard, the ports are right next to the drives anyway and no fans have any airflow near there, so the benefit is negligable.

wel the sata cable just reached the way i did it and the where the ones the came with my dfi bord. The ata cables get really short ones because the drives are right next to the bord the ones i went for where some ac ryan ones look lik this

its got a big hole in the bottom of the case where the pipes go thought so should b ok. That one only problem with my rig the nose its quite load im thinking about putting a water block on the n/b and getting some fans and putting them at 5v.

Always try unplugging the ADDA's as the v1000+ is quite capeable of cooling a hybrid system without fans. :)

(If you have your watercooling on the graphics aswell it could handle it no worries without case fans.)

Worth seeing if its the adda fans annoying you. :)

OK ill have a go at that Do you think it wil be worth cooling the n/b as wel

If its making noise change it. :)

I have the stock heatsink from my K8N Pro Sli motherboard, and that is fine passive with no airflow. Silence > 1% performance gain for me personally. :)

Ill have a look then see what the bits cost The fans are quite noisy wil have to replace them with some amber fans. The psu seem to be makeing bit of noise as wel.

Yewen, I just read your review of the Lian Li V1000+ on your case central website. Just out of interest, why did you have the power button rebrushed? and what exactly does that entail?

Looks better, and instead of my power button having 'rings' in the aluminium it now has straight lines across it.

Purely cosmetic, and I did it mainly because I needed something to try that was not important if it was messed up.

Nope, never had to use it in the years I had them.

If you ever did need to, hold the power button in, then turn back on, does the same thing but takes around 5 seconds longer to do. :)

Lol, I think I can spare 5 seconds!

Saw a post from someone here that they ordered the V1000+ from Ocuk and received the +2 version. Have you had any experience with this variant? An extra fan can't be a bad thing, although it does ruin the nice minimalist aluminium look a bit.
