Lian Li V1000Z Pics

cool, cheers. The pic's are a great help.

Only other Q was where did you route/hide the top panel connector cables? (those horrid grey ones that come with the case).....

Not forgetting the problem I have with the right panel making a humming sound (bluetack didn't work).

as nicely finished as all lian li cases are this is the one major caveat with them, i've had 3 LL cases and still have 2 of them ....all of them have rattled at some point......the PC-60 being the best and the V2000 being the worst offender.

thermals/airflow isn't their strongest point either :(

looking to buy a new case and i swore i'd never pay the LL premium prices again but the OP has done a nice job bringing me back :p.....very tidy job.

What was your remedy for the humming/rattling noises marscay?

Are you buying the v1000z?

i had this problem with my old ATC201, that's what happens with thin aluminium side panels. On mine it was the panel facing the motherbord tray, so my solution was to roll up a ball of tissue and tape it in the middle so it touched both the tray and the side panel. The extra rigidness this provided stopped the humming.

My only other suggestion is to try to limit all vibration in the case, get slower case fans, maybe decouple the HDD's somehow, etc. Essentially find which component is pushing it to hum, and remedy this.

just the usual remedies, blue tack/foam but i could never completely quieten the v2000 - AquaXtreme 50z pump i had at the time was too much for the case as were the drives.....i loved that case but i wished they'd beef up the side panels.

the 1000z is tempting, maybe a touch small for my needs though.

Very nice jonnylaris! I should be getting mine this week. I will also like to water cool it but at first air will suffice. I've had a hard time finding people with this case. I don't know if it's not popular or what? You are the second person that I seen show it off on the net. There is another guy with a water setup on YouTube and some shots on a forum (links below). That is a good looking setup also.

For those that are asking about the I/O plate not aligning with the mobo, there are some shots of the back. If you look it seems the mobo is a few mm too high or the I/O opening is too low. Something is not right. It looks like you can still plug things in but it might be tight. Is this how yours looks?

Basically how mine looked. With my Asus Maximus, nothing would plug in. I then tried a different mobo and some of the I/O's were accessible, others weren't. The problem also extended to the expansion slots.....

Needless to say I have since returned the case (the retailer has confirmed the problem) and they are sending me a replacement......

Very nice!

Basically quite similar to what I am doing in this project but I am getting the case cut and hoping for a neater install and also watercooling the GPU.

Got my case today but I don't have the vented PCI slots like it should and the window is scratched from the divider.

When was yours manufactured? It's the little sticker on the side of the bay. I wonder if I got a older version or something.
