LiE's Diet and Training Thread

Looking forward to doing my squat form tonight. I know it's deload week but I may do a double of something quite heavy just so we can see the form when it's not easy peasy.

My program calls for some fairly rapid increases in weight, for example I go from a 162.5kg dead to 240kg in 4 weeks... going to be interesting.
 
Sounds pretty tough, what you hoping for your new PB?
Video will be taken tonight, even going to use my phone for some HD squatting!
 
Although the programme shouldn't technically be going to PBs at that point, 240kg is actually a 5kg PB for deads. I should have hit that 6 months ago, so not anything to get too excited about.

I don't really want to speculate on PBs too much, but my programmes projected PBs are squat/bench/dead 227.5kg/137.5kg/252.5kg. Could be a little bit more or less than these, we'll just have to see.
 
Took some nice HD vids, first one is light and the butt wink looks improved but not perfect. 2nd video is 2 reps @ 140kg, nice and slow to show form.

(I'd recommend watching them in 720p in a new window for best quality)

I find my grove a few reps in, this was only my 2nd set.


I think the form looks pretty good at 140kg - 2 angles.

Good man, form seems good to me really. As you say, got some bum tuck (don't we all) but you're working on that :)

And yes...That guy sounds like a plank. Do the staff not do anything?
 
Yeah that guy sounds really annoying!

I think your squats are looking so much more stable LiE. Very smooth up and down now.
 
Looking good LiE! I don't think there is much to say on them really :).

Have you tried changing your foot angle in slightly so you tend towards parallel more, just curious?

Also I think the second angle is slightly better for judging form, it's my preference :).
 
Not quite got the flexibility yet for more parallel feet, something that will come with time perhaps.

Looking great, definitely moving in the right direction.

You actually seem to have less bum tuck on the second video, which is impressive.
 
Perhaps because it was slower I was able to control it better. I don't think I could do any sort of speed without getting more bum tuck. Need to keep hammering the stretches until I become a supple leopard!
 
Haha exactly :D

It happens to me too, if I rush into the bottom of the lift I get a tiny bit of wink. I'm taking it as a sign that I'm close to nailing it.
