Let me know when you guys are doing your next mock meet and I'll see if I can come along. It'll be massively helpful to get feedback on things comp specific.

Thanks for putting that together for me. I'll crack on with my heavy lifts for now then.

For my first comp I'll be happy if I get close to what I know I can lift, but I'm fully expecting for my weights to take a hit.

Keep me posted. Are you in Oxford?

I'd like to do a mock meet perhaps next week would be a good time, as I'm off work for a bit so training may be abit over the place. Just need to see if Syla5 can come and shout at me.

What are the commands for each lift?

I'm up for a meet.

Tonight I spent some time working on my squats and just making sure I'm happy with my setup and form. I also wore the converse, which I found to be fine.

Squat
60x10
80x8
100x6
120x4
140x3
140x6 - these felt really good, the movement becoming a lot more 2nd nature now.
140x3 - felt even better.
160x1 - easy, did a little pause at the bottom and blasted out of the hole.
180x1 - comfy
100x10 - legs were dying by this point, all the tightness that has built up over the weeks coming in.

I decided to do some soft tissue work on my quads/knees and stretch out my legs, they were pretty tight. I think squatting twice a week is taking it's toll, along with all the other heavy lifting.

CGBP - a little something as I had some energy left after stretching
50x10
70x8
100x8

I'm planning to take a deload next week then start a program the week after. My body is telling me to ease off a little.

I freeze Thur/Fri sweet potato and defrost on Wednesday. Taste is consistent all week, love the stuff. I have found recently that the loose sweet potatoes from Asda are a lot better than the 1kg pre-bagged stuff.

Building on last week's singles, I wanted to do some more heavy paused bench. So 10kg of my RM last week, I did some more singles.

Pause Bench
60x6
80x4
100x3
120x1
145x1 - really smooth, went up fine.
145x1 - same again.
145x1 - Was expecting this to be harder but it flew up again.

Pin Press (touching chest)
100x6
120x3
120x3

Incline DB Press
25x10
32.5x6
42.5x8
50x10 - felt really good, nice solid reps.

Dips (1s hold at bottom)
BWx11
BWx12
BWx10

Did some dips to add a little volume at the end. Then did some shoulder/pec stretches with the bands.

Need to think about working towards improving on my 155 pause bench PB.

Planning to keep lifting near my max to get my body used to the weight, hopefully slowly increasing the weight. Triples I don't think I can go past 140, so I probably probably stick to doubles and singles like above.

Just worked on squats today and did some stretching. My legs still feel pretty fatigued and I was finding I had to use a lot of effort to stabilise the knees because of this.

Squats
Bar x lots
60x10
80x8
100x6
120x5
140x4
160x3
170x3
140x5
100x8

lots of stretching.

A good low volume session tonight with a nice deadlift PB thrown in ;)

Deads
80x10
110x8
140x4
170x2
200x1
230x1 - felt good.
250x1 - PB - whoa, what a difference an extra 20kg makes. Felt leagues heavier than 230. Nailed it though, more comments with the video.

Weighted Chins - Palms facing in
BWx6
20x5
25x5
30x5

Wide grip pull ups
8,8,7

My form obviously breaks at this weight, but I felt no discomfort, no lower back pump. It was actually a PB where I came away feeling really good. I could have probably been tighter, which would have mitigated some of the slack that was taken when I lifted. Also, first time I've ever had to squeeze the lock out. Given a few months I think I could tidy it up, but overall I'm pleased with a 3xbodyweight deadlift.

(1080p)

Almost ran out of bar space because I used loads of 10s!
