'Limited' Edition Games

For me atleast, as long as the Quality is their and the price is right I'll buy it.

I bought Fallout 3 Collectors and Love it, £50 for the game, soundtrack, documentary, art book and the bobble head (also got a keyring :D) is fantastic value. Especially when the Box it comes in looks fantastic.

Quality of the product was sound and it was only £10 more, I also love the documentaries, I like watching them when I've got nothing better to do and the art books are nice to flick through once in a while.

Also the Gears 2 CE was worth it, art book and a nice case for £5 extra is worth it for me. However looking at the batman CE I think the quality isn't their, I mean even if the baterang was quality, the stand looks crap and looks like it'll barely support it.

Quality + Price = Sale

It has to be worthwhile for me to buy it.

When I was younger and gimpier I bought the special edition of Ridge Racer Type 4 with the Jog-Con and the PSX shoulder bag but now I wouldn't bother, in my mind it's a waste of money. It's just a bunch of data on a disc, I want it as cheap as possible, couldn't give a toss about the packaging or "exclusivity".

I use to collect special editions just so I could have it and know I had the complete package, I was quite the collector of VG crap years ago.

I don't bother as much now, in fact I would say I probably wouldnt bother anymore but it probably is due to the fact that I am married and would rather spend a lot of money on a very expensive watch that I know is truly a collectors piece.

To each his own really, at the time when I collected stuff like the OP talks about I was really happy with it and in the end thats all that matters.

I really don't like the 'tat' that comes with it, I mean as a grown man a figurine isn't really the type of thing that excites me! However the developers commentary, and concept art prints are always nice. Not nice enough to encourage me to pay extra mind.

I paid a bit extra for my Fallout with the lunchbox and Bobblehead, but I think it was like £50 as opposed to £45, so I considered it worth it. I wouldn't pay more than £50 for a game regardless of what it came with (unless it was a special controller, like Guitar Hero, Donkey Conga, etc)

Same mate. I will pay over the odds for something when there is something particularly good included, free download of the original game (now in HD) bundled (not normally free) DLC included. Stuff like in game gold weapons or whatever are just awful. Metal boxes are rubbish too, art books, making of dvds... not interested. I liked Ghostbusters on PS3 included the Blu Ray of the movie - worth £5 more for example.

As a long time Fallout fan having the bobblehead on my desk is great, but then I did buy the pc collectors edition which was cheaper then the console standard editions....
