Linkin Park are back!

I think it’s quite an inspired move to make. It lessens the ‘he’s not Chester/Chester wannabe’ comments lots of people would have by simply having a female vocalist and they can maybe try a few different things. Not really listened to them since my teens but might give the new album a go.

However, it’s a shame that she might be a bit of a dick as Shami suggests and her screams are a little weak/strained.

Watched the live stream this morning, amazing.

Wow. I'm blown away. Quite emotional watching this. Initial impressions 4 songs in, is that she's actually the closest fit you could get to Chester in a female voice. I don't think people realize how unique Chester was, and how taxing it is to sing like he could for long periods with that throaty rasp. For her to get anywhere close is testament to an amazing voice, and I think she pulls it off in her own style. I agree, the pressure must be immense on her. I think she's pretty decent. Not like Evanescence imo. Different style and sound. Her vocals suit Linkin's style and tougher edge.
Like the new Single. Been a fan since they came on the scene. A lot of memories.

She gets better as it goes, from Lost onwards! she kills it!

The Catalyst has some dodgy moments, but imagine the pressure on her

I watched it live last night and thought the same. Took a few sonegs to warm up and was definitely stronger towards the end. For a first live performance with the band I thought she did well but definitely still room to grow into it.

Don't forget its a brand new drummer also as rob bourdon didn't want to come back

New single is a banger hyped for new album

I haven't held an interest in Linkin Park since the end of my teens and Meteora, but I enjoyed Dead Sara's early work in the early-mid '10s. Emily Armstrong is a capable singer and their guitarist, Siouxsie Medley, excellent. In fact, I have a signed CD from that band in a box somewhere.

Great opportunity for her.

New single sounds great, could totally imagine Chester singing it.

Just watched the live stream and although it seems weird at first, by the end she does seem as much of a good fit as you could get. There's some obvious chemistry and whilst Chester is irreplaceable, she is both similar enough and different enough at the same time that it works.

I liked their first two albums, I used to listen to them a fair bit.

But after that I didnt really pay them much more attention.

Offf, seems the new girl was a really bad pick for them lol

How so?

Is it because she used to be a "scientologist" or she "used to support her friend" who has since been convicted of a crime, and now has no contact with them. I think you may be just a little over dramatic and judgemental.

EDIT: She has never said publicly she was a supporter of scientology, she did once attend a scientology gala in 2013.

As for her performance, I thought she was really good, she's not there to replace Chester, no one could. But her opening vocals in the new single still give me goose bumps after a dozen or so listens.
