Just because you say so doesn't make it fake. I don't believe that list is genuine, but it won't stop people believing in rumour.

Given how crap the year has been, with one AAA title after another turning out to be dump and the year itself being dump, I think its pretty easy to forgive people hoping the list was/is real, I find it entirely understandable.

If it was real they would most likely have said nothing. How bad would it look if they have called out that it's fake and then it turns out to be real?

So...

1. The list is clearly too good to be true.
2. It contains a bunch of games that aren't even on EGS.
3. Horizon Zero Down(?).
4. Other games have been revealed, contradicting this list.
5. EGS have confirmed it's fake.

Yet there are still people hoping/believing thi list is true? Epic will give away some great games, as they always do. It would be a shame if excitement about what they are giving away winds up being overshadowed by a silly prank.

1, 3, 4 and 5 are valid, but 2 isnt necessarily a binding thing. Theres been several free games on Epic which werent on Epic until the point they were free, GTA being the biggest of course.

We will find out later @ 5PM I would not be surprised if its a true list as ECS have billions it would cost them perhaps $1M per game in that list small change to them unlike Valve ECS give directly back to the PC gaming community who made them rich I doubt many publishers would expect to sell $1M of those games digitally in Steam sales anymore!!

Its not unfeasible that its a fake list but only partially a fake list, it being a fake list doesnt necessarily mean for example that every title on there is wrong, could be that some are right, for example, I could easily see Borderlands 3 being true
