List of free games for EGS until end of year!

1, 3, 4 and 5 are valid, but 2 isnt necessarily a binding thing. Theres been several free games on Epic which werent on Epic until the point they were free, GTA being the biggest of course.

I know they've done it before. But only with the occasional game. This list of 15 titles has 8 which aren't on the store; Dying Light, Resi 7, Andromeda, MGSV, The Evil Within 2, Fallout, Monster Hunter, and Dragon Age. It's quite a big leap to go from doing this with the occasional title, to doing it with 8 (and most of them from publishers who don't have any games on EGS).

In isolation, maybe it isn't that far-fetched to think it could happen. Maybe the Christmas giveaway is coinciding with EA, Capcom, and Zenimax games coming to EGS (all at once). But with the rest of that list? Bit of a stretch.

The list is indeed a bit of a stretch, my point wasnt really pertaining specifically to that list, more just that a game not being on EGS does not necessarily mean that it wont be a free game, as they've done it before.

My personal opinion is that as a whole, the list is wrong but that at least a couple of the titles on that list will actually be in the free games, Borderlands 3 I could easily see them giving away, its been sub-£10 in the last few sales. AC Origins is also a possibility, now that Valhalla is out, Origins is 2 versions behind. Witcher 3 is a possible, Far Cry 5 ..also possible given Far Cry 6 is on its way. Breakpoint hasnt done well at all, so could see that being a possible too. There are definitely some titles on that list that I wouldnt be surprised to find being true.

And you know what they say, every good lie has an element of truth to it :)

Cities Skylines is the first free game. Think the Xmas Sale starts today too so its worth having a look around maybe and see whats in the sale

£20 for Star Wars Squadrons

With Cities Skylines remember to grab the free add ons as well if you claim base game, they don't make it clear some add ons are free too. Pearls from the East, Match Day and another one. Think you get £10 store voucher for claiming games too

Told you it was fake.

Lets just hope that not every game on the list was fake, even if just a few of those on the list turn out to be true that'd be good as theres some good ones on there. Mind you, with the superb infinite £10 off voucher they are doing again theres already a lot of really good deals on there but free games are always nice :D

I think there's a very good chance Hitman 2 will be free. It's only a month or so until Hitman 3 launches exclusively on Epic for PC (for a year). They have already given you the maps for Hitman 1, so wouldn't be surprised if you get them for Hitman 2 so you can have the entire trilogy available with Hitman 3 at no extra cost.

You dont even have to claim a game this time, just log on and press the free voucher button :)

Cool, thanks Rico! Cities Skylines has been on my wish list for a while, I claimed the game and then read your post, I would have missed the DLC offer. The other free DLC is a Christmas themed one - 'Carols, Candles and Candy'

Picked up Snowrunner. Applied £10 voucher so only £10.99, well happy. :)

Red Dead Redemption 2 is the next one on my wish list, just going to see what the equivalent offer is on Steam.

If I claim the free DLC from here, given that I have a Paradox account, will that DLC work with my Steam version of the game?

Interesting to note that the following games are all listed as "Coming Soon" on the Epic Store:

Borderlands 2
Bordwrlands: The Pre-Sequel
Conan Exiles
Darkest Dungeon
Demon Turf
Wargame: Red Dragon

Might be nothing. Might be something. Epic have previously moved games to "Coming Soon" status when they're about to go free. But then there aren't anything like 14 (released) titles listed as "Coming Soon".

You might be onto something there, as Wargame: Red Dragon was meant to be the free game a few weeks ago but was delayed.

lol at that list compared to the fake list. I won't be installing the Epic launcher

Its worth installing for some things..for example, Snowrunner for a tenner, Star Wars Squadron for a tenner, Anno 1800 for £6, Ghostrunner for £8, Dead Cells for £1.99, Remnant from the Ashes for £5, Death Stranding for £17, Desperados 3 for £12, Disco Elysium for £10, Civilization 6 for £2, Hades for £8, Jedi Fallen Order for £11, Borderlands 3 for £6, Control for £13, Satisfactory for £12. Though of course those are largely dependent on whether the person actually wants those games or not, some of those prices are even cheaper than you can get on places like cdkeys.
