I have something like 50 games on epic. I've paid for two, and probably 50% of the others are well know games that I've thoroughly enjoyed.
Cities Skylines is another top notch game to go with civ6, borderlands 1&2, Pilars of Eternity, Watchdogs, GTA V, etc.
By all means, don't download, but the only person who loses is... You. You could literally never ever spend a penny on there, and still have a pretty amazing library of games.

That sounds a lot more like it. There's only 3 duplicates out of 15 then for longtime participants - Metro 2033, Inside and Torchlight II.
Epic has given away tons of really nice games throughout the year.
Steam has given away... absolutely nothing in its entire history (that I know of)
Apart from the odd "free weekend" here and there.Gog routinely gives stuff away too (although it's mostly garbage-tier).
That is more what I expected - a list of games I'll add to my game list but never touch
You get free games weekly, plus I've had 3 £10 off vouchers now for claming free games, my whole library been free: Also got the Batman Arkham collection on another account.

Looks promising for the accuracy of that new list, in which case I highly recommend Alien Isolation and Darkest Dungeon, not that either of those are particularly Christmassy
Yep, some fantastic free games from epic, really enjoyed a lot of them. For the sake of having another games store on your system I really don't see the problem. I mean, you're either wealthy enough to have a system easily capable of coping with another platform installed, or you're poor enough to appreciate free stuff .

Perhaps much more, I have more than double that list which have been given away. IIRC I haven't missed a single giveaway, yet.

I missed the very first free game which was Subnautica but I don't think I've missed any since.
Strictly speaking it was Shadow Complex Remastered about a year before the launcher we know appeared. Did you get that one?

GTA V was free earlier this year.
Pretty good promotion, I grab them all even if I will never play the majority, the kids may like some of them.
