lite beers... why don't we have them in our pubs?

After two weeks in Chicago, I too have the taste for lite beers.

Coors lite is the worst of the bunch, but at least it's available (if only in Wetherspoons). You can get Miller and Bud lite from most supermarkets.

yeah i think that's where i got the taste from drinking in New York,

Miller Pilsner is miller lite under another name, I actually emailed Miller asking why they stopped doing Miller Lite here after a huge marketing campaign in the 80's "it aint heavy, its my bevvy, its miller lite". That was their reply, so add that to the lite beers you can get here. I prefer coors, micholob ultra and miller to regular beers.

You can brew 2% ABV beer. The only difficulty is getting the taste unless you like to strain the tannins out of the barley..

Have to say the taste of alcohol free (ie Kaliber etc) is pretty rank but I suspect that the beer that they started out with is pretty rank too..

Woah hang on... in Coors Light - the light refers to less calories??

I genuinely didn't know that but I always ordered it as I liked the taste. Will be ordering it even more now I know that. All helps with the half marathon training :o

Or he doesn't like Ales.

Not everyone loves them you know :p I do, but I also love my lagers...Wellm not the ones over here anyway.

Apologies, I'm a relatively new ale-drinker after coming to the UK from Tasmania couple of years ago where finding anything but lager in your average pub is impossible :( Possibly a little over enthusiastic :P
