little mod i did today

True, but there is a very fine line between modding a car, and modding a car to look like something its not.

Putting a kit on, some nice alloys and a few tweaks is ok, but putting an ST kit on, ST alloys, and ST lights (if they are different) is edging towards that 'trying to make it look like an ST when it isnt' area, which just doesnt do it for me.

Fair play. Ford ST mods always happen to just look awesome though and some people just want the subtle changes on their car wthout the intention of making appear as an ST. If you get me :p

I'm all for ST mods but please don't put the badge on. :p

what about a chrome turbo 16v badge?

haha :D

on a serious note, do you guys think i should de-badge the back, take off the Mondeo Zetec badges

No, definately not if your planning on putting any form of ST style exterior mods to it. Debadges with ST mods is the fastest way to fall into the 'too poor to buy an ST, so tries to make a fake one' crowd.

Personally I'd debadge because I hate polishing round the edges of raised badges. That was the main reason we took the 200SX badge off the back of Kates car.

True dat, i actually re-badged mine as it didn't come with Zetec y0 badges on the sides :o. They do look pretty good IMO but are a real pita polishing around and if you get any polish on the black plastic part of the badge they look naff.

This is a normal number plate. Yours is not, your definition of normal fails.

Also when are you removing your gay cosmetic mods?.

if those are regulation plates then mine are wrong, ive never noticed the spacing being wrong though, i think this is the first time it has been mentioned

what mods on mine are gay? (apart form the dubious sticker)

Wouldn't worry, although that's the "standard", it;s not the "requirement".

For instance, at MOT is must be:
-Readable from so many units of distance (don't know what the measurement is).
-Letters must be in a font where the characters are of constant thickness.
-Spacing must be correct, the gap between the numbers and the second group of letters must be at least twice that of the other spaces.
-Maybe more, I'm not an expert.

There are also a few other things the police can enforce which are not included in the MOT.

@OP:
Subtle, I like.

If that is MOT legal then sweet. I think that looks alright. Better than forking out on Morettes or whatever the Mondeo crowd use and chavving up the front end poorly :)

I'm kinda neutral on it, don't think it looks any worse but not sure if it's made any real improvement to the look either

If you like though, then it's all good

whats MOT got to do with out?

As in you don't have to go to any hassle swapping things come MOT time. I don't pretend to be a MOT tester but I have come across some testers that I have wanted to beat to within an inch of their lives for failing things just for not being standard. Other stations passed the same things perfectly.

I had the RSAP bodykit and ST24 wheels on my Mondeo. Although I was lucky in that the car came with the wheels from the factory I'd have fitted them anyway - I wanted an ST24 or a Ghia X V6 but couldnt at the time afford to run or insure one, so I went for the next best thing as it was the look I was after more than the performance.
