thats cos on new msn they removed view webcam feature...
can only video call now, aparently this is so they can focas on higher quality video..

Not been forced to update just yet or received any messages but on compatibility mode. MY parents one and a few others have popped up about a new version available. They can go and bolt if they force the update 2011 is shocking
 
I was forced to update but im still on windows live messenger 2009 just latest version of that one and not 2011 version. Thank god for APatch being around still as i hate ads in messenger and the sidebar things.
 
I'm being forced to update now. after typing in email and password and clicking sign in a message pops up asking if i want to update. I click no (obv.) and the sign in is cancelled.

so now i cant get in unless i update. not sure what im going to do yet...
 
Hey Im still using 2009 also, as I dont like the latest version, but now when ppl send me links they come up as normal text and I cant click on them. Is there anyway to fix this? I guess its msn's way to make you upgrade.

Msn has given up of bugging me, but has taken the link thing away, so if ppl send me a link, I cant click on it anymore, I have to copy and paste it:mad:
 
Just to repeat it for those that missed it:

To keep running 2009 run it in compatibility mode for Windows Server 2003 (SP1)
 
My Messenger is ******* me off at the mo, Every time i turn it on I have to close it & open it a 2nd time for it to work. Bound to be summit simple but can't be arsed to sort it.
 
Mine is being crap at the moment. Cursed myself by saying I haven't had any problems with it. Currently I cannot receive any messages. Can send them fine but not receive. After I sign on I have about 2 minutes of chat time before it breaks and I can't see any messages people send.
 
I updated last week to 2011, hated it from the start, even after apatch.

I used it for 2 days before going back to the previous version which I had no problems with.

This seems like a huge backwards step, can't even change my name without logging in to the website and I don't want it to remember my password just my email addy.
 
i was forced to update.
no one on my contact list can see my typed messages. it doesnt work so i can no longer chat on it. tried pidgen and still no one can see me.
i tried to uninstall it from "add/remove" in windows vista (SP2) and nothing happens.
any ideas ?

ah well found out how to uninstall it:

WINDOWS VISTA:
1.Click on the Start button.
2.Type C:\Program Files\Windows Live\installer\wlarp.exe on the Start Search box then press Enter.
3.A new window will open. Select Uninstall and click on Continue.
4.Select the Windows Live Program that you want to remove and click on Continue.
5.Follow the on-screen instructions.

good riddens !!!
i'd rather eat a broken glass sandwich with dog turd then use that.......
