come on - at least be sensible and put some of the blame where it belongs (on Gerrard's shoulders for such a stupid /reckless tackle)

He isnt fully responsibe by any means, but it was certainly a winnable match with him on the field for the full 90 (given how close you got to scoring a few times after the 32 minute mark)

I never said it wasnt Gerrards fault. I said it wasnt the teams fault. You cant blame a whole team for the actions of an individual. So I am being perfectly sensible.

Well atleast under Daglish the liverpool fans got the period of new boss effect they moaned they didn't get under Roy. :D

I don't think it will do any harm for liverpool to drop down like Newcastle, take a year out, rebuild and get rid of the prima donnas ;)

No harm? It would be totally catastrophic for a club of the size and stature of Liverpool to get relegated you clown!

There's no guarantee they would get promoted - you have no idea of the personnel they would have, and each year they stayed out of the Premier League, they would become institutionalised into being a Football League club.

I was joking you *****. That's the same line pedalled to newcastle fans that it would be better for the club to go down and rebuild by nodding liverpool fans when they were flying high :p

I don't think he was being entirely serious :o

danny's got to get his digs in early because I suspect he won't be around much after Sunday.

In their case it transpired it was, as they came straight back up, and gave game time to Andy Carroll who developed into a top class striker, and rejuvenated the likes of Joey Barton and Kevin Nolan.

Same players. Same performance. Nothing surprising here.

I'll admit Kenny sounds more positive but the team still looks a bottom half side in terms of performances.

Torres and Gerrard are worth more put together than our squad, it would be unthinkable at home to lose to our side with our best player away.

Especially with King Kev MK2 in charge and the new boss factor, you can't lose!

Dalglish is awful, he was responsible for celtics worst season in like 50 years and that was his last job as a manager. LOL.

Dalglish was unhappy with the departure and Celtic's termination of his contract. He had recommended previous manager Barnes to the club and offered himself as a replacement manager should the young Barnes not succeed in the role. In spite of the termination of his contract, Dalglish vowed to stay on as Director of football. After a brief legal battle, Dalgish accepted Celtic's settlement offer of £600,000.

Martin O'Neill would have been the man for the job, I fully expect Dalglish to put them into relegation.

Watched some of the highlights, still think that Liverpool's squad isn't as good as the fans expect it to be and Dalglish isn't going to have loads of joy. But then again, Blackpool are a decent side who play good football, they can catch you out

You really shouldnt just copy and paste off the Kenny Dalglish page of wikipedia, it does your post no credit.

Dalglish is also one of only 3 managers ever to win the league with different teams, or was he an awful manager when he won the league with Liverpool and Blackburn? Was he an awful manager when he chose to sign Peter Beardsley? or Aldridge, or Barnes? Was he an awful manager when he pulled Mcmanaman into the first team and Redknapp? Was he an awful manager when he got SAS for Blackburn?

I remember very well watching both Liverpool and Blackburn under Dalglish and both played decent attractive effective attacking football, odd for someone under the control of an "awful" manager.

O'neill is definitely not the right person for Liverpool and of all the touted names linked with the job his is the absolute last one I would want. (I'd happily take Rijkaard or Deschamps and would even be intrigued about Villa Boas).

As you fully expect Dalglish to get Liverpool relegated, how about you make a wager on it? As you fully expect him to and I fully expect him not to get Liverpool relegated, it would suggest that we are both certain we are right, so lets say £380 , a tenner for each match of the season. Sounds fair, we'll see which one of us is right at the end of the season.
