The sneak shot looks like it might be a wider-fronted evolution of the Delta Wing. Look how far back everything is.

Looks to be a different philosophy though. The Deltawing was all about getting the rear tyres to do all the work so that they could run the skinny ones up front. Some of the other spy shots on Jalopnik suggest that the front wheels on the LMP1 car are actually bigger than the rears.
 
Its looks too small to be a LMP1 car, when you compare that to the likes of Porsche, Audi and Toyota.
 
In the big boys league of WEC, Nissan never did anything special outside of building a car that understeered like a b'stard, had masses of power but was never able to win anything in Group C at the world championship level. Sure they did OK in IMSA and in Japan, but frankly when it came to the top of the tree they were found wanting. A friend of mine raced for them in 1988 at Le Mans, great to here his stories of immense power and circa 235mph down the Mulsane.
