LMP Cars 2015

It will be interesting to see how this runs.
Certainly different. Wonder how they manage that much power through the front wheels?

Talking of Panoz, any ideas why there is almost no footage of the GTR on Youtube?!

Do the electric motors power all 4 wheels, or just the rear wheels?

Edit: just read the interview, it powers all 4 wheels with ERS if they want.

This thing is so awesome. I loved the DeltaWing, but got a bit annoyed at Nissan after they basically killed it in order to make the All Electric Le Mans car which actually just turned out to be a DeltaWing coupe with a battery that never worked. But this is bonkers and I love it!

I am so looking forward to Silverstone in April to see this thing in action, when was the last FWD Le Mans car? In fact, has there ever been one?

Out of interest, is anyone else going to the WEC at Silverstone this year?

I'm hoping to go but we've got a busy couple of months ahead so I wouldn't be surprised if it sneaks up on me and we end up missing it.

The good thing about WEC is its not hugely popular, so you can litterally decide to go on the morning of the race... you know, just after some people on here remind you :p

I thought the aero package looked a bit basic, maybe underdeveloped would be a better word?

But then I saw it from the back!

I didn't realise this was doing all the races, thought it might have been a Le Mans only thing.

Going to Silverstone so hopefully see it in action! :)

Yeah reading the interview its all about the aero. It's really clever!

They are saying its an out and out Le Mans spec (read high speed) car, so it isn't likely to be competitive in any of the other WEC rounds, at least not this year. But it's going to be epic all the same.

Even the drive shafts come into the top of the uprights and then have drop gears to the hubs to avoid penetrating the internal channels. This apparently was one of the problems with Audi's R15 which was designed to allow air through it instead of trying to pass it around.

Very skinny wing and if things go to plan it won't be running it at Le Mans.

I'm planning to head up to Silverstone. Especially if this is going to be there.

Could have a mini-meet :)

I'm going for the whole weekend for my first visit to Silverstone and first WEC event.

There's a good article in Road & Track about it, loving the aero concept of the Nissan. Suspect that Silverstone might induce a few teething issues though.

It looks, sounds and is totally bonkers. But it's different and because of that I hope it does well.

Nissan seem to have a habit of making different LM cars recently.

Just read about this...

Reality TV contest to win a drive at Le Mans 24 Hours launched

Raceto24, which will be shown on the internet until moving onto television at the semi-final stage, will put a total of 24 drivers through a selection process for the drive in one of the Morand Team SARD Morgan LMP2s at Le Mans and subsequent rounds of the World Endurance Championship.

Really not sure how to feel about this, you would hope that some of these drivers could have a shot at a seat if they deserve it without having to have to go through something like this, but on the other hand I guess they are hoping to raise the profile of said drivers, the team and even Le Mans and WEC so who knows...
