** Logitech G27 Racing Wheel ** PRE-ORDER

Just wondering,as im currently learning to drive, does your car in the game stall if you come off the clutch too early without pushing on the gas? :/

Woah thats a crazy price! love the comment 'Only £310'.... brill.

Looks like i missed out on the £99 deal :-( anyone getting rid of theirs who get it on this deal and is listing it on the MM drop me an email!

This price is for real ? what on earth are logitech thinking pmsl that's more expensive than the far superior fanatec wheel.
You can still get g25's for £110-£130

Think I'll stick with my Momo racing FFB wheel which is still in good working order after 6 years of LFS and GTL!!

Crazy prices

I agree the 27 is rather ambitiously priced by Logitech. They appear to be trying to compete with some of the more serious hardware out there, and the reviews I've seen so far don't really justify that.

I bought a cheap G25 a while back, even though my old Red Momo was still working fine. I was *very* surprised by the G25 though. The extra wheel throw makes a big difference to car control, and it showed in my iRacing lap times. I didn't break world records, but I was almost competitive (no wheel can work miracles ;-). The difference was easily worth the cost... I wish I'd done it earlier.

The G25's FFB is an improvement too, though I believe not all G25's are created equal. Small differences in the internal tolerances can make a significant difference to the FFB experience.

If I had more storage space I'd buy another G25 while I can. I think it's a real bargain. And as for the G27... I suspect OcUK may not need to keep too many in stock. I'd like the extra wheel buttons (which I miss from my Momo), but not at that price. :-)

As Logitech bought in the first UK sample into the OcUK office on Thursday, I can confirm you can stall cars in game using the G27 clutch. But the games need to have the support built in.

The wheel itself is much better than the G25, the force feedback is smoother and more natural feeling, the wheel turning was much better, it was silent, the G25 can be rather noisy.

The pedals are much improved also, with the brake feeling like a real brake pedal with resistances, the clutch is light though, and the accelerate is spot on.

Cannot comment on the gear stick, as I prefered the padel gears, so I didnt try the stick out.

The issue of pricing was discussed with Logitech, need to wait and see if they can do anything for OcUK. Will keep you posted, and if a price reduction is given, any pre-orders will have the difference refunded back to them.

As for configuration in game, we tested 2 racing games out. Live for Speed and rFactor, both of which needed no configuration at all. It detected the G27 and both games have a "G27 profile" built in.

Be warned when you install the drivers in Windows for the wheel, the wheel tends to do 5-6 mad calibration spins so watch your not holding the wheel at the time.

Lol - always wondered whether I should get a racing wheel. Now I've found the right one for the perfect price - a complete rip-off.

What are logitech doing? They must think we're mad. $300 does not equal £300 yet.

If it is the same wheel (give or take) then fair enough you guys are angry.

Are there a list of changes online compared to G25? Ie. Metal parts and generally better consturction? If not then I stand with you guys :p

I've seen it at another site for £255.00 (£221.74 ex. VAT) ;)

Send Ace Modder or Fatboy a message through the OCUK suggestions forum to let them know where and they will likely try to match the price or at least find out why logitech arent offering them the same deal.
