Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

Here's a picture of the 910 and 810 side by side in case anyone wants to compare them. Sorry about the quality.

yo, i know it has individual rgb colours on each key, but does it have funky light shows like the corsair k70/95, like the keys flashing all over the shop in different patterns, i.e ripple effect, graphic equalizer, tetris stacking ect??

i think on the corsair you can download profiles designed by other people...

Also that blue dock, is it just a holder or does it actually hard connect to your phone via usb ect?

The light effects on the G810 are Breathing, Star Effect, Colour Cycle, Colour Wave and Key Press. It think it's the same on the G910.

The blue dock on the G910 is just a plastic holder so it's OK to use whatever make your phone is.

Yes that's right, I've got a G910 and they are the light options plus 'fixed'

Just got one of them and waiting delivery. I am currently using a G11 and before than has a Qpad MK-85 any recommendation on a suitable 3rd party wrist rest for this keyboard?

Unless anyone who owns this posts anything really negative about the keyboard this will be my first mech keyboard when I get paid tomorrow.

It's time to upgrade and get rid of my ageing dell keyboard...

I dont own that board but having owned the 910 and now some Ducky's I much prefer the Ducky's with the Cherry switches.

Which Cherry switches did your Ducky have ?

I have a Ducky Shine 3 with red switches and don't find much difference between it or the Romer switches Logitech use.

I did look at the Ducky Shine 5 but I have always been impressed with Logitechs after sales service and their build quality so lean towards them rather than Ducky, I realise that Ducky have an excellent rep for build quality as well...

Not at all actually, as viewing all colours at a rate of 1 colour per second would only take approximately 193 days, at which point what more is there to see? So when you think about it, this is a very boring number of colours and not nearly enough! I want a lifetime of different colours, and as I plan living at least another 60 years, I am holding out for a 1.9 billion colour keyboard, because I NEVER want to see the same colour twice.

I'm totally with you.

Initial impressions are that it doesn't feel much like a mechanical keyboard. It more feels like a rubber dome keyboard but a little more feel to it.

There's a reverberation from the spring as well, not sure if this will settle down or not yet - but it's pretty irritating.

Lighting wise - I already had the logitech software installed so it was pretty plug n play. White is pretty much blue though, so you're out of luck if you wanted a subtle white glow from the keyboard, you've got a subtle blue glow instead (this might have something to do with the black of the keyboard/caps though).

I'd say if you're coming from Cherry Reds, it's not a huge amount different (especially if you have O rings installed). Whereas if you've got a clacker like Blues or something - you'll hate it as it doesn't feel mechanical at all.

Undecided if I'll keep it yet, definitely not if this chime noise from the springs doesn't disappear.

That's exactly what I had, a Ducky Shine with O ring fitted Cherry reds which must be why I'm happy with the G810 :)

I've got a Ducky Zero with Reds and O rings and it's much nicer than the G810 :)

Return requested now, that metallic chime noise was unbearable after more than a few minutes of typing. Going back to MX Reds and it's much nicer than the Romer G switches (IMO of course).

That's 2 people I've seen now complaining about a metallic noise but whatever I do to my keyboard I can't get it to make any sound that sounds metallic to me apart from hitting the very right side of the space bar.

Might be QC problem then, mine makes the noise even if I just tap the case rather than actually press a key. Sounds like a number of springs vibrating rather than just a single spring from a single key.

I don't know how to describe it, but 'metallic' is perhaps the wrong word... definitely some kind of spring reverb though. I've read it in a few places, so definitely not just me who experienced it, but perhaps it is QC related, hard to say.

I bought one of these and hear a slight metallic sound - like an after-note echo that hangs around after typing, it's not too noticeable during gaming etc though, and I'm not that bothered by it.

However, I only got it today and have already phoned support for a replacement as the space bar keeps sticking if I hit it on the left side or with more than one finger/thumb. It's already stuck down a few times while typing this short reply.

Overall I really like it - although it's my first mech keyboard and I bought it partly for the Division bundle and partly brand loyalty. It's got a nicer feel imo than the Corsair strafe that my cousin let me have a go on the other day. Shame about the support issue so soon...

Ugh, I've had a nightmare trying to deal with Logitech support about this, I went to buy it through their website but my order got stuck on pending for payment after my browser crashed.

I wanted it for the Division bundle etc and it was a reasonable price (this was under a discount code that expired after I placed the order so I could not just re-order it).

Tried to pay it online from my outstanding orders, no option to do so, have to go via support.

Simple right? Just need to pay them. So I try to call them, order number in hand.

UK support advertised number, http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/contact - (0)175-387 09 00. I ring it, get a menu system up, which asks me to press 1 for support, 2 for sales etc. None of the numbers do anything, the support line is broken! (tested from my landline at work and my mobile).

OK I'll try a quick Live Chat. Nope, they don't offer it.

Fine, I'll email them instead. I can't just email them I need to fill in a form, so I do that and a case is opened. I give them my contact number etc to get back to me.

No reply for a day, I chase it up saying that it's ridiculous how hard it is just to pay them for the order, they promise me a follow up the next business day.

The next day I get an email saying my order has been cancelled (automated), as it was too long since it was opened, but I've been trying to pay for it since I opened it without any reply.

They didn't get in touch with me until the next day after they promised, where they said that Paypal has declined the payment, and to get in touch with Paypal. That really does me no good, and Paypal is not the only payment method I have. No helpful replies, just palmed me off to Paypal instead.

I asked how to raise a complaint about the frankly poor customer service, they said to send them a letter to their head office in Lausanne. An actual letter! They have zero complaints procedures it seems, other than sending a physical letter to another country.

In the end I got a Corsair K70 RGB instead, I think I dodged a bullet with the Logitech support in the state it seems to be in. The experience I had has really put me off using them, Logitech have lost a customer in me.
