Heya guys was trying to find a logitech cordless mouse which took standard AA batteries but cannot seem to find one.

Was looking at the G7 mouse and was wondering if anyone has any personal experience on how long the charge lasted in these mice for every day use.

Also are you able to buy new ones, if so how much are they.

Hey,

The Logitech MX-610 takes AA batteries and is IMO a very good mouse. The G7 looks like it has proprietary Li-on battery pack.

The G7 does indeed take proprietary battery packs and you get two of them in the box along with the charging station/receiver, mine seems to last for a full days browsing/general office type tasks easily but if I'm gaming it is a bit shorter, maybe 5-6 hours at a rough guess. :)

6 hours is accurate for heavy use, its a 600mha battery, and the mouse is rated at 100ma.

Anyway, as long as the charger is in boost mode, the pack charges in around 2 hours, and it only takes seconds to swap them out.

The VX Revolution takes a single AA battery.

Probably not what you're looking for though as it's considered a laptop mouse.

G7 battery life sucks?....mine's never run out before the spare is fully recharged and mine's not on boost charge, I reckon 8 -10 hours with non-gaming use
Thats pretty week man I currently have the mouse that came with the Bluetooth Logitech Dinovo Desktop thing and I only charge it every 2 days and I use the mouse a LOT.

Using 2300MAH Rechargable batteries (I have at any given time 10-16 spare ready to go into devices). so AA battery acceptance is a must.

G7 battery time sucks :O

that rubbish

Logitec put a 600mAh battery in it got a reason...

1. save weight...

2. fast charges..

the battery won't run out before the other is charged..

i've played 12 hours + of solid gaming and never had a problem @ 2000dpi.

yea you change the battery and that takes what??? 5 secounds...

the G7 is a awsome mouse sooo much better than anything else i've used. Its light on the hand action and feel is better than any other mouse i've used.

MX1000.

I really can't believe how long the battery lasts. On a full charge its a couple of days before it even goes down to 2/3 leds battery. And I'm using the pc a good 10 hours a day :p

Have not heard good things about the MX1000 I have heard that over time (less than a year) the battery fails to hold a decent charge and the fact that you cannot change batteries over doesnt appeal to me.

Have not heard such issues myself.
I bought the mouse second hand, can't recall how long the previous owner had it, but its been great all the time I have had it (much less than a year!)

Had mine for a while, easily over a year, probably closer to 2.

The battery last a few days of heavy use no problem.

I normally stick it on the charging base every night anyway, but it's lasted for over a week without charge.

A question about the G7: Does it come with a charging "dock"? If yes, I will get it instead the Razer Copperhead

I think there is a seperate device built into the USB that goes into the computer that charges the battery but I do not believe there is a charging station/dock.

If links are ok to manufacturers sites I will add this but if links to manufacturers are considered "Competitors" feel free to ask me to remove or do so yourself.

Click here to see the logitech main page for the G7.

Looking at the pictures I would say the charging process is built into the USB device plugged into your PC so instead of charging the mouse directly it charges the battery itself which is probably why you get 2 with the mouse.

i use my g7 quite a lot and the battery can run out before the other battery is fully charged doesnt take long to change but if your in the middle of a game can be very annoying
