London Thunderstorms

In North London it's been pretty loud and the rain is coming down heavy. Around 15 or so minutes ago this big bolt shot out the sky followed by such a loud bang as i was watching out the window that i jumped :s.

Still going on strong here although not as loud as 15-20 minutes ago.

Starting to look a bit grey in Herts. Has anyone had the hail that was forecast? I want to know whether to go put some cardboard over the radiator on the car to stop it being damaged.

poor old David Walliams I bet he wishes he hadn't decided to cross the channel today!!!

He'll get wet!!!!

Still sunny in Southall. Somehow the words sunny and Southall don't sit well together.

I'm in South Kent at the moment (visiting parents near Folkestone) and I haven't heard a thing, which is a pity.

Mind you its gone miserable - just left the beach as the sun went in :(

30 minutes since the thunder/lightning/rain stopped, and it's as hot as it was before.
Most disappointing. :(

Happened round here a month or to back (including the jumping out of skin part). Turned out someone half a mile away lost their roof. No injuries fortunately.

Cloud is thickening in Cambridge but nothing too ominous as yet though.

As long as it holds off until 17:30... got to walk home from town, most of the way down Mill Road...

After the few weeks of roasting hot weather we are having the most amazing thunderstorm over SE London, probably the loudest I have ever heard so it must be right overhead.

Should be good to clear and cool the air, wash the roads down, soak me on my bike etc :D

Shame it's not night time really this would be a great one to watch.

Had the thunder but no rain its still too humid over bromley area :(
