London Thunderstorms

I really hope it starts raining hard here in Nottingham. Will teach my fellow office monkeys to shut the damn windows.

*See thread 'Air Con and Windows' ;)

We've had a massive storm here at Luton Airport. The air con went off in the office but all the PC's stayed on thanks to the emergency generator.

The fork lightning is a couple of miles away now but I can hear sirens so I would imagine people have been flooded out or hit.

Each time there is a close strike, our VHF radio makes a strange noise
Haven't seen anything like it for a while.

We just missed one here in Kent.

Aparently the met office has said there could well be some mini-tornado's

tis very very wet in luton right now... the rain seems to have calmed down a bit (10 minutes ago might have been the worst rain i have ever seen in england) but there is still thunder and lightning every 10 seconds or so !

ps. i will join u playing in the rain ;)

Bugger all here just off J4 M4 (West Drayton)

Very Humid, you can feel the air is much more dense when you walk out the door from this office. (Stockley Park)

Happened round here a month or to back (including the jumping out of skin part). Turned out someone half a mile away lost their roof. No injuries fortunately.

Yeah thing was i don't know why i looked out the window. I just heard rumbling and as i turned it just shot out which looked pretty cool but the bang was deafening and made me jump out myskin. I don't think it hit anything though as if it did, you'd have thought it would have destroyed it seeing how big it was.

Update: It's stopped now here, skys are a bit clowdy but clearing up. Suns out shining again and it's boiling :(.

Had really really heavy rain in Aylesbury at around 16:20.

Was like a bloody tropical storm, I've never seen it rain so hard before. Bit of lightning and thunder, but so so wet!

Weird things is once I drove about a mile out it was bone dry and sunny.

Some muppet in a rover was drifting on the roundabouts though, ok on empty roads but not when your in line of traffic.

Quite dark around where i am, Docklands...im sure the sun was out a few mins ago:confused:. Oh well looks like ill be walking home in the rain, didnt bring the brolly with me today:(:p

A row of houses about a quarter of a mile from me was struck by lightning yesterday. 5 houses, no roofs left...
