Looking for a First Car.

If you're going to look at semi hot small hatches, of course insurance is going to be expensive.

Do some quotes on something like a focus, phone around and negotiate and go from there

Problem is, you rarely get a decent discount on these cars and you'll lose what you saved on insurance, in depreciation.

For gods sake dont buy a new car on the drip to get a years free insurance, just give me your money if your sick of it.

Listen you want to buy one of those cheap little Mitsubishi Colt things and ring round for the best quote.

Then bite the bullet, you got age and area going against you, the sooner you get some no claims bonus the sooner you can drive something decent.

Dont let whatever you dad left you burn a new car hole in your pocket.

Mitsubishi Colt! Thanks Mark. Totally forgot about that, seriously insurance is a joke. I desperately need a car, but 4k+ insurance is just silly. Thanks for the advice guys, will defo ring around and see what's what. I'm not keen on a new car, just seeing which option is best for me.

EDIT: £4k insurance for the Colt 1.1CZ 2006, and the car is £3500. Bah.

What about a 1.0 lupo or arosa I had a 1.4 as a new driver and it was not too bad to insure ?

Well thats just ******, give up with those on line quotes and start phoning round.
 
After years of research I found that the cheapest car to insure is a Morris Minor through the Club's insurance scheme.

I guess it depends on just how much you want cheap insurance :D

Thats all he needs is his mum doing a flintstones out the bottom of the car.

Given it took you less than 10 minutes to get that price, I'm guessing you're just slapping it into a comparison site?
