looking to update my gpu but torn on which way to go (cheers for any help)

Edit, there was only one, sorry, and they recommended a v56 as well.

So users say which is why I got one as I plan to game on this display sometime soon. It was just a no brainer for me as its a great gaming card but I also mine when not using the machine which I have done for some years now. I also own a 1060 6Gb so its not like I just buy team red, its just the best card for the money until you can afford a 2080 territory.

Should I be worried about the two years warranty on the pulse 56 or are they a decent card maker?

I have a 1080ti now, but i am thinking of ditching it for V7 as i want freesync back, thinking of swapping my tv and want adaptive sync and of course... Nvidia doesnt want to play with that does it...
I have a blown v56 i was doing some hefty modding too and broke it, but the nice red V7s look sweet..
The Radeon vii is a beauty, I put mine under water and its smashing 2200mhz from the default 1800, and the memory 1250mhz from the stock 1000. undervolted also, I lurve it

@Stephanie Peterson its a sensible move IMO, if you have a freesync display you can only gain. AMD aren't that bad, they do need to get a kick in the driver department of late though as they should do better.

Cheers for the help guys. Come payday looks like I’ll be buying a vega 56.
Just to make sure I don’t mess up. I have a 750psu. That will defo run the card?

What make is it? I have a Seasonic which is solid and full tilt gaming whole system would use less than 400w (it is undervolted and tweaked though - you would be silly to leave at stock).

They need to do little with there drivers, bar maybe get a bit better on day one release of the card as this is what a lot of folk see.
There driver set is far far more advanced than nvidias frankly garbage interface, i went from the AMD to Nvidia side and couldnt believe how bad the green teams interface still was.
As for stability and feature set ... well its red all the way by miles imho.
Radion chill, the undervolting and overclocking options built in, relive, all the other stuff and of course freesync and all that.. plus a colour space not buggered about with like nvidias default setting.

Got to get back to team red, just need to push on this 1080ti which has been great but i want another AMD card.

What do you mean about the drivers? They look 2019 instead of the windows 98 nvidia drivers.
I will admit the radeon 7 suffered at the start but they are completely sorted now, im sure nvidia drivers are flaky with new hardware too, timespy black screen with the latest nvidia driver springs to mind and no 1650 drivers until launch for example

Words from my mouth, taken

Drivers are release often enough but are too buggy IMO. They always break something after releasing new sets. Its mainly affecting people with multiple displays, use of displayport and losing settings if you head into the vega56/64 threads. I have stuck with the version Im on until I see some solid feedback.

Wattman is really good now. They were supposed to have the mobile app all singing and dancing, changing settings on the fly and auto clocking but I have yet to see this implemented since it was announced correctly.

Dont get me wrong the 1080ti has been a great card, but a few FPS her nor there is not the biggest thing in the world.
Neither is the ridiculously overblown nonsense about power usage on Radeon cards which is so so stupid it lowers my IQ everytime i read a numpti go on about it.

Amd drivers are fine, imho a setup up on Nvidias.
Amd power usage is fine, not as efficient as Nvidias fair enough but not enough to complain about in the real world
Amds reference build quality is easily as good as Nvidias founders taxed cards, imho the reference cards are even better built.
The performance is also fine, i bet most couldnt tell the difference between a v7 and 2080 if blind tested.

Only thing i wish AMD would do is get there voltage under control, they overvolt there cards from factory and this makes them look like power hogs to the noobs. Drop a few mv on them and its a different board.

I had a vega 64 and 56 from launch day and didnt have these issues, yes the settings get deleted IF you choose a fresh install for the new update, which i do everytime by mistake also, but i also learnt to copy my settings files first before updating, takes 10 seconds.
I use the AMD LINK every single day of my life and its perfect, I have zero issues with overclocking on it or anything else....

If I had the funds I would be on a 7 absolutely. Buckets of memory goodness! :D

Will have to try the LINK then, I was referring to this on release week era then was meant to revisit.

I think they have a more varied binning on their chips to nvidia, and thats where the variance comes from in MVolts , some radeon 7s are 1100mv at stock and dont undervolt much at all, some like mine are 1051mv at stock and undervolt to 980.
Although my first radeon 7 i sent back had 1081mv and would overheat and crash at stock settings, would not undervolt 1mv , i sent it back and got it replaced by OCUK, as they saw what i saw also, that was just a bad card though
